🤔 Just curious, what brought you to similar worlds?

I too came over when EP closed. Initially I was looking for a community to share stories and a place for me to express thoughts I wouldn’t really share in my every day life. It’s been a positive place but I do go through phases of being on here to not being on here for months. Seems like a common theme for many of us.

I can’t stop seeking some connection to others, but when I have expectations I get disappointed. I leave and come back. Eventually I will give it up. I’m making changes in my life and I hope that it works out. I hope my courage and authenticity will benefit me at some point because as much as I love to make others happy I feel like a benefit to others that use me up. I turn into someone I’m not. I really need that cycle to stop. SW is part of that cycle. I come here because there are interesting tidbits, but I need more. I’m working on it.

I needed a place to vent because I have a profoundly deep personality that I can rarely share with others. And I had negative thoughts about myself but also my spouse at that time: namely that he was not what he seemed. Of course I didn’t want anyone in my world to know everything, so I chose to find a forum where I could privately share …This site, previously called EP, now Similar Worlds, allowed me to share my anguish when I was thinking about divorce and whether or not I would truly be able to get divorced. EP allowed me to process that painful possibility. Many people who are here helped me thru that phase whether they knew it or not. But I was also able to be there for others. I believe the only persons I hurt were those who deceived me, or were about deceiving other. I am only now realizing that people truly need or want safe place where they can live anonymously. I need it too.

I looked for a new platform because we had owner shift and it was talk about shutting down my old regular platform. The platform stayed but the new owner changed it and now it's like a grave yard cause most my friends hated it and left.

Well, EP originally, i remember i did a search on something, and a link to EP was in the results, the rest is history!!

I was an EP member ages ago and left a few years before it shut down. By 2017 or so, I googled Experience Project to see if it had resurfaced or if there was anything like it out there. Up came Similar Worlds in my search, so I tried it. I've been here off and on ever since.

I discovered Social Media with EP. When it died, this site sprung up from its ashes so I gave it a shot...6 years ago.

A good friend of mine from another site talked me into it.

Haven't seen him on here in months.

It's like a different world to the real world in so far as that you can explore and talk about which you could not do face to face

I found "Similar Worlds" in late 2016. It was like "EP" reincarnated. 😇 Left SW in 2017 and came back in 2020. I am here since 2020.

EP shut down and I was sick of Facebook and looking for new social media sites.

I found it by mere coincidence . Back then it was EP and it was a better place than SW .

When EP was shutting down, I got a message inviting me to SW.

Learned about SW on Yahoo Answers when Y!A was shutting down.

I came here after being on EP for 7 years.

EP died and someone suggested SW.

Saw an ad for the Experience Project and loved it
Great people great advice e-mail swapped good stuff !
Then when they pulled the plug on that there was a hiatus of a few weeks and I think I just stopped all social media

I was very active in EP ( 2012 to 2014) but EP was closed. After long time i was chatting with a Scottish friend and she told me about this website,i came here...i like This more than FB because people are non judgemental here

I think I googled Experience Project and found this site. It's not as good as EP; I found my sub there.
