Why would someone insist that "alot" is a word and call me a dummy for saying it isn't?

Furthermore, why would this person block me for telling the truth about it? If I am wrong, please tell me which dictionary lists "alot" as a word.

@Bewilderbeeste Well, you are not the blocking police, either, my dear. People can just want you OUT of their lives if you embarrass them. Nothing wrong with that. A tad oversensitive, but you don't get to tell them they can or can't block.
