Before making an SW post about current affairs, do you ask yourself “why do I care?”

It’s attention seeking from people desperate to look informed or an expert.

It bugs the crap out of me when, even when the post has nothing to do with politics, someone always has to interject politics into it. I have a couple news apps that I look at daily. The articles always have a comment section. Every single article, with very few exceptions, will get extreme comments blaming a political party, left or right.

People are purposely whipped to a frenzy by the use of 'outrage' in the media they view. It gets clicks, views, ratings when you push emotional buttons. By the time people come online here they are like boilers full of steam looking for someone to vent at.
They are firing someone else's bullets.
A lot of this kind of media is deliberately twisted or even created to make this happen. It's very typical of the Russian and Chinese trolling on social media also.

I suspect that most of those people have nothing better to do than troll news websites all day looking for articles that support their political philosophy.

It wouldn't surprise me if most of these folks get ignored in real life, so they come here.

We certainly can't change the course for those in power by saying stuff. The truth changed nothing.
