Do you delete people's answers if they don't have the same opinions as your own?

Why or why not?
SW-User
No but I will delete comments on my posts if I feel they are offensive, too flippant, potentially triggering or repeatedly plainly lies.
SW-User
@Crazychick ah... The old I didn't mean offense defence.

However if you caused offence your motive is irrelevant.

Apologise, learn and try to do different on the future
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@SW-User I do apologise once I realise what I've said was wrong and how it was offensive, but if it's just to appease some silly troll's worthless ego then I will not apologise.

@SW-User Taking offense is a choice. So is the intention to offend. There's often a mismatch between intention and perception. Generally it's unhelpful to assume the intention without checking; but I think we all do it far too often.
adorbz · 26-30, F
I have no reason to pretend everyone thinks the same way as me. If I’ve deleted a comment then ya know it’s would have been omega awful
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@adorbz What about alpha awful comments?
adorbz · 26-30, F
@Crazychick 😱🤣
CestManan · 46-50, F
I do not delete peoples' replies.
Sometimes I do delete my own threads though if I am later embarrassed by them and there were few or no responses.
Bartleby · 51-55, M
No. It has to really cross lines for me to delete a comment.

@Crazychick Yeah, I’ve seen ones that definitely go too far. Fortunately not on any of my posts yet.
I occasionally delete spam comments.
Belladonna · 41-45, F
Definitely not. Variety is the spice of life. I'm not afraid of differing opinions, and hey, they might even logic me into a change of mind. It's just fun.
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@Belladonna I agree that variety is the spice of life and people are entitled to their opinions, but I won't let anybody change mine.
Belladonna · 41-45, F
@Crazychick That's fair. I like to see other views, and sometimes I see I don't always agree with myself. I figure that's fine too. :)
@Belladonna That's how I feel about it, too. 🙂
Only if they are being entirely rude..
I let it slide usually.
it is delivery, not content I object to
Teslin · M
No, everyone is intitled to their own opinion. As long as the conversations remain civil all is good.
rottenrobi · 56-60, F
No, I've never had someone say something that offensive. I don't delete comments.
Nope. I think that's childish. If I'm done dealing with someone I just stop responding
Strongtea · 22-25, M
No, people are free to write what they want. I want to see what people really think of me.

Hell no. Isn't that the whole point of discussing things?
Nope.. because that’s how I learn to see things from a new perspective
Snuffy1957 · 61-69, M

I don't delete any answers.
But I do report them😅
Only if they disrespect my friends. Or me.
Myself11 · 61-69, M
No we all are entitled to our own options

@MalteseFalconPunch First off, let's deal with your last sentence first. I never, EVER start arguments, I only REACT to those who do.

Arguing is another word for trolling. If two people don't agree, why can't they just agree to differ and refrain from arguing? What is so difficult about that?

Crazychick · 36-40, F
@MalteseFalconPunch Yes, but why is it so difficult for them to admit that?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
It depends on many factors. I am in favor of free speech but when someone is trying to derail the conversation or is simply repeating the same nonsense over and over again I may take the prerogative and delete the comments. I do try not to but sometimes.....
only if they are sick
chrisCA · M
No. I want to see other people's opinions.
I am suspect of posters who delete a lot of the comments.
