I always loved schizophrenia. I know it's not easy to deal with it. But i've always been interested in mental disorders and clinical psychology. Not sure if loved is right word but... let's say fascinated...

Nothing against you.

Poeticdiva · 31-35, F
@SW-User At least your honest about it.
Spoiledbrat · F
I’ve never been afraid but I don’t know anyone with schizophrenia either. I’ve worked with schizophrenic teenagers and teenagers with other disorders or mental illnesses.

SW-User
I really know nothing about it and what I do know is its not something I want
Poeticdiva · 31-35, F
@SW-User You're right. You really don't.

I think as a general statement, people are scared of things they don't understand ...
jen2000 · 26-30, F
People are afraid of things they do't understand, and the movies don't help.
Repete · 70-79, M
Some people are afraid of anything that they think is different.
I married a wonderful lady that was diagnosed as schizophrenic with panic attacks and a few more problems. She was great when not in a crowded area a lot of people made her panicky . We enjoyed camping hiking and many other things. I still love her many years later.

It sounds tough. I've only known one man with it. But I know living with a mental illness or someone with it is tougher than just one encounter with a person who has it. I really wish you well!
Mondayschild · F
There is more than one kind of schizophrenia. They can be violent or catatonic. I'm glad that you have found some way to deal with yours.
Poeticdiva · 31-35, F
@Mondayschild I really haven't. I'm untreated at the moment.
Mondayschild · F
@Poeticdiva have you been diagnosed?
Poeticdiva · 31-35, F
@Mondayschild Yea. Schizoaffective.

SW-User
I am not. I don’t judge a person on one aspect or a diagnosis.
I go by how they treat me. If you’re cool.. you are.

I have schizoaffective disorder, and I'm usually the victim of my illness and a group of undercovers and other schizophrenics and the general public all the time and sometimes my family too.
TwiddlerofThumbs · F
A few are dangerous.
My neighbor wasn’t though. She was just a lot of work.

My mother was a paranoid schizophrenic and a repeat felon for armed robberies after being kicked out of the family for getting pregnant unmarried.
Chickie · F
@Anonymartyr My mother wasn't a party person but she was just like that until my youngest sister was born. I've heard that she did had a rough past.
Chickie · F
@emptysoul44 Like what? Paranoia?
emptysoul44 · 46-50, M

Poeticdiva · 31-35, F
