Dont worry at all. Its far too expensive to go to war with any other superpower. Takes a 5 thousand dollar shoulder fired missile to take out a 15 million dollar tank or a 50 million dollar fighter jet. His losses in the Ukraine prove that point. Even with the older equipment hes using there its too damn expensive. He knows as well as any other leader that has nuclear capabilities that any nuke used anywhere will only lead to a total shitshow. Hes not in the Ukraine to throw the world away in Armageddon. If he wanted a global war it would have happened already.
@icedsky I'd disagree with this in Putin's case. I'm starting to think he isn't at his full capacity either in health or mental state. Let's hope his Generals would balk at any such decree to launch issued by Putin.
The main reason the US and other global powers haven't acted in a personal sense thus far is because they we're all walking on eggshells hoping he comes to his senses and see reason and finds some type of morality. They were hoping to avoid pushing him into his nuclear options.
With the mental slipping that I suspect is involved, it could be that he will not accept any outcome now that doesn't increase Russia's land holdings. If this tactic works and he ends up getting away with it, He'll try it again almost immediately somewhere else.
I personally think that if the UN actually sent troops and war equipment in and the US and other powers did likewise at the very beginning, this would be over already, and Russian troops would be home.
The West and the rest of the world should be afraid of something Putin might do. He has shown that Russia has the capability to take out satellite's. Russia claims they have super fast ballistic missals that are impossible to hit with another missal. And it is possible that Russia has hacked into US and its allies defence computers. Russia's war in the Ukraine isn't going well so to save face he just might just start launching nukes. Cheers and happy weekend!
No. He's using the spectre of nuclear war as leverage because he's run out of options as the war he's personally started is failing badly. For a 'superpower', he's exposed how little this former first world power is really a third world military backwater. Besides, doesn't he have some kind of sickness or disease or something? Sounds like he wants to go out with a big legacy.
If Putin launches nukes, the world as we know it will end. No country he targets, that has nukes, will hesitate to launch once his birds are in the air
