Could be something larger than a mouse. Once had a skunk that somehow dug a hole into the trailer. My cat wouldn't get anywhere near it. Had a devil of a time getting it out of that hole. Sealing that hole afterwards was easy.

A couple of snap traps with peanut butter will let you answer the mouse/ not a mouse issue. Process of elimination from there. Maybe try a squirrel trap?
