Since when is being honest or telling the truth a crime?

Especially when someone asked you to be honest or tell the truth, you give it to them and they get upset and angry! Dude YOU’RE the one that asked so don’t ask and get angry if that’s not what you want or hear. I’m not going to tell you what you want to hear. If you asked for the truth, I’M 👏🏻 GOING 👏🏻 TO 👏🏻 TELL 👏🏻 THE 👏🏻 TRUTH 👏🏻!
But with tact. Be respectful.

Had a few people put me on the spot by asking me my opinion on their actions, which caused conflict or adversity with others as I remained quiet.

They said, 'whats your opinion, promise I won't get mad just tell me the truth'.
To which I reply, 'what do you want the truth or the glossed over version'.
They always pause before answering and say, 'tell me the truth, I won't get mad'.

In that way the decision to hear the truth is on them.

@eyeno That annoys me. When they say that, they don’t mean it most of the time. Unless people like us can handle the truth. If I didn’t wanna hear they shouldn’t have asked simple as that. They only want to hear their version of the truth. Just keep being blunt dude. I mean how else are we going to get anything done?

Because often people use the excuse of telling the truth to spout hate, opinions and hurt. Just because you believe something to be true does not mean to need to vocalise it

It’s a game some people play that I call “shoot the messenger”.

@cherokeepatti shoot the messenger?

Truth and honesty don't come consequence free, that's why they are concepts.
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
@pedrohedgerow Indeed friend, humanity is not so simple unfortunately as all kinds of things drive this negativity, not just hate but also doubt, fear and uncertainty. How can one person be sure the other one wants them to be well.
pedrohedgerow · 61-69, M
@DrSunnyTheSkeptic We are faced with personal decisions, choices which seem unimportant in the context in which this world bombards us with disinformation, trying to make their reality dominant over all.Ultimate wisdom-treat others as you would wish to be treated.Immaculate.
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
@pedrohedgerow I guess that's the best option even if you dont get the same in return at least you can be content with your own decency.

Because it's YOUR truth not THE truth.
Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M
I totally agree with you JulesKittyKat
It's a set up. This happened on a family trip and after I gave my mother the honest response she asked for, she didn't speak to me for the rest of the trip, and a month afterwards.
PetiteJulie01 · 22-25, F
@DreamyCrush What the hell?! I hate people like that. She shouldn’t have asked. Did she ask for the truth?
@PetiteJulie01 She did, and I said 'Nevermind'. Then she was like 'No, I want to know.' So I told her.
People don't want to hear your opinion. They want to hear their opinion coming out of your mouth. 😉
PetiteJulie01 · 22-25, F
@DffrntDrmmr Well they’re not going to get it! People that only wanna hear what they want to hear don’t care about other’s feelings or what they honestly thing. You are so right about that!
pedrohedgerow · 61-69, M
If you stand up for what you know to be truth, there are many who hide behind lies, and they will do all they can to discredit you.Maggots.

Maybe when social media came along. Seems many prefer over positive affirmations that douses the truth in falseness.
SW-User
Many think they're up for it, few are however.
