What's something that's always wrongly depicted in movies or tv shows?

There's always an available parking spot right in front of the store, building, restaurant ....

Combat or fight scenes that run for ever without a mark on anyone's face. Dropping a loaded gun and running away to fight more bad guys. I could go on and on how I hate Hollywood not portraying real life action and consequences. I am right there with you about hot wiring too.

★ Ordinary Pistols shooting 2 or 3 times their capacity.
★ 99% of Car Crashes DO NOT cause Massive Explosions 💥 or Vehicles Flying 20 feet into the Air!
★ I don't care how funny the situation is, there never and Audience 😂🤣😆 there Laughing for 2.5 seconds after every sentence.

I know this is pretty nit picky but chessboards are always set up wrong, always. The Queen's Gambit was the only show that got it right, for obvious reasons

The unrealistic ease with which people hot-wire cars reminds me also of "picking a lock" by sticking a paper clip in it for a few seconds or running a credit card along the doorway, as if that has any real chance of success. 😑
