How would you rate your public hospital 🏥 in your country and is it expensive

Australia had a great public hospital all included in your taxes, no hidden bills 💸 when you are discharged

Not bed considering everything is free it's just the 8hr wait in emergency department that will kill you

Its free here 🇨🇦 but we are short on doctors and specialists in the area.

@Carissimi Even the poor who do not pay taxes have free access to healthcare…but I understand what you are saying.

That’s because other taxpayers are paying for the poor, and those who don’t pay taxes are getting it free. That parts a fact. @LunarOrbit

@Carissimi Yes. Someone has to pay for it.

Entry into our hospital is always accompanied by an insurance interview. If you don't have insurance they want to know if you are employed and so on. Even so, there is always a percentage of the bill which is not covered. That can be up to 20% of the bill.

The hospitals will bend over backwards if you call their billing department and let them know that you can't afford to pay. They are willing to set up payment arrangements.

When the ex had a knee replacement surgery he had a huge bill, and he fibbed to the hospital and told them he had less money available than he did. He ended up paying $10 a month.

We have one of the best medical centers in the world, and our local public hospitals are connected. We have fantastic health care.
I haven't been to the hospital for like 16 years.. last time i was there they wanted almost 20k for one ER visit
I would give it a 7 out of 10. It is expensive if insurance doesn't cover it. Still paying on one of my bills from last year.
@nedkelly Right but I'm wondering if a person would get better treatment at the private hospital and if they'll accept all people into their hospital, or only if they have the money.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
@midnightrose Many of the top doctors and surgeons also do work at the public hospitals as part of the agreement
@nedkelly That's good

Still good here in uk but do have long waits for ER and none life threatening opps, still better than having to sell your house for a new hip

When I’m in RI, it’s pretty average. When I’m in Boston, it’s quite superior.
Excellent but very expensive.
