Does your family treat you like a bank?

They seem to think I am a bank or a loan service. I'm not against helping if you genuinely need it but most of the time it's not for emergencies. If I say no I'm labeled selfish or a miser. My brother is a prime example wants 2k for poker swears he will pay me back. Told him no and I got told I'm uncaring and selfish. As is I'm the one funding our mothers care home. Selfish huh.....

A good poker player doesn't need to borrow money, any other sort (and they don't need to be bad) will always be borrowing money.

i think you would genuinely help a family member if you could financial if they where in a scrape . but far as your brother goes i think you are absolutely spot on . they may call you mean but lending him the money you are doing him no favours . this is encouraging him with his gambling addiction and you would never see your money again [deepblacknothingness]

Usually it's an ivy league, respect me for my position man who teaches his family that they can't live without his money, then calls them out for treating him like an ATM.

Every family has someone like this. His behavior leads me to believe that maybe you gave into him before perhaps many times.
He needs to learn to fend for himself no matter his age, nows the time to learn
