Would you feel sorry for a nice person with a mean spouse?

I feel sorry for my brother in law and his uber controlling wife. Going there for dinner is always an uncomfortable situation, so no one shows up.

It depends with me.

One neighbour we had are couples with a young son
New built house with details to finish off.
He was working his butt off finishing off drilling big holes for post or something.
She was sitting on back veranda with one of her girlfriends drinking bubbly.
To my utter surprise she asks him to get another drink for them.
He stopped drilling and got them a drink.

He stopped, she was a lot more closer to the kitchen then he was.
He seemed like a nice guy but after seeing that he is a smuck,

No i dont feel sorry for people experiencing that. All i can do is push them in the right direction to leave that situation. I find when i empathize too much with them i start to dislike their significant other and that isnt fair. Were all flawed indiviuals. I try not to fault people for theirs.

Nope, I feel that if you don't like it you have to do something about it.
