Which holy book is more authentic? 😯😯😯

Which book is more reliable? 🤔🤔🤔

The Quran. At least it only has one author so it stays more consistent. Not a bunch of authors with competing political/religious agendas all trying to one up each other.

@Tariki

There is no illogical inconsistent world, where nothing hangs together. There IS justice in the world, and a merciful God who created everything by the breath of his word, his name is Jesus. And the Bible tells us the beginning and the ending if we care to find out the mind of God. And he shows mercy on whom ever he desires.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:1-5

"The word became flesh, and dwelt among us" John 1:14

@Carazaa Hi, a Christian theologian, George MacDonald gave a great sermon on the equivalence of mercy and justice.

Thank you

The Holy Bible. (2 Tim. 3:16) I look at it this way, if you want to know if Jesus is real and alive, ask Him. He'll either reply to you or you will not receive an answer. (Jer. 33:3) I have always found it strange, though, that Jesus and his disciples were murdered, but for what? They simply did what most others have done. speak truth.

Plus, out of all religions, can you say your god would die for you to cover all the amount of bad you would ever do in your lifespan so that you could live? Does your god speak to you? Does your god motivate and encourage you? Protect you, even? Provide for you?

Mine did and does. The name's Jesus Christ. He did (and does) all of that. (John 3:16, John 10:27-28, 2 Kings 6:16, Psalms 23, Isaiah 41:10) All I have to do is believe in Him, be baptized in His name, receive His holy spirit and build a relationship with Him. (Also follow His commandments. It's struggle bus at best. Lol).

The easiest religion you could ever come across and, yet, it's the hardest one for most. I get it though. Some, in the name of Christianity, have ruined your idea of what Christ-like actually is. As a Christian, I will apologize. Not all who call themselves "Christian" truly walk in the likeness of Christ and for those of us who do and get it wrong, just know that, luckliy, we are not Christ. He never gets it wrong. Christ loves you (inspite of) and is waiting for you to try Him out. 🙂 (Rev. 3:20)

Side note: in most movies, when the villain has information, what does he tend to do with it? what do think is happening now so that you will never learn of the truth? the villain almost always knows the truth. he's counting on you all to never find out. 🤷🏾‍♀️ (Isaiah 14:12) look at who he was and look at how this world is run.
I vote Lord of the Rings

@Ozymandiaz no! It's the Chronicles of Narnia, you heretic!
Well, I'll be off. There seems little point continuing. That millions upon millions of Christians are opening to Faiths beyond their own, exploring the ever expanding revelation of the Universal Christ, is of no interest here. Dismissed by insular minds as "the great apostasy" or some such nonsensical phrase drawn from their own Protestant Fundamentalist creed and its myopic vision. The Roman Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox, dismissed as "cults" and "apostates" by those who in effect simply commend themselves as being "of the truth".

All rather sad.

But I wish you all well.

@Islamreligion ❤️

We are sinners from Adam and Eve and therefore we die, we also all sin, every one of us. "The wages of sin is death" We are all doomed. But God reached down with his own arm and rescued us. He saves us. The Bible speaks about One God in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. When we are saved the Holy Spirit enters our heart and then we are changed.

God the Son took the wrath on himself. Jesus was in hell for us, because he loves us. He was as forsaken by The Father as anyone in hell. He cried out in physical pain, and in spiritual pain. When he came down from heaven he became a man, but he never sinned. He did not deserve the punishment that are due us.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life"
John 3:16

Jesus rose from the dead after 3 days, and after he spoke to many he then in front of 500 witnesses rose up in the clouds. He said he will come back to judge the living and the dead.

"For the Father judges no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son" John 5:22

All sin deserve punishment by God, and so it is just that he takes anyones punishment that loves him. Hee is helping us because he loves us. It is our only hope.

And in Matthew 24 he shares the signs of the last generation before he comes. I have a featured post on this on my profile.
And in The book of Revelation he shares that he will come with 100 million angels and the dead in Christ will rise first, and then we who are alive will meet Jesus in the air.

Here is what Jesus said
[c=BF0000]
12And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

13I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

15For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

16I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

17And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

18For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

20He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

21The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.[/c]
@Carazaa Yes, you do. Once again, instead of staying within the context of our exchange you move sideways, at a tangent.

In fact I have answered all your questions. Sadly.you appear incapable of genuine engagement with my responses. I doubt that you have tried very hard, content to remain with your own "truth", already found and which to your mind excludes all others.

Our questions are important. We are what we understand. No more.

1. "Good" and "Evil", light and darkness, have one source. As the Bible states explicitly. As the "O Felix Culpa" has it, our knowledge of them is a necessity. The Fall was a "happy fault" not a rebellion.

2. Reality is completely "just", often in ways beyond our comprehension or according to our own judgements. I have total and complete trust in that. I equate "justice" with mercy, as other Christians have taught. Ultimately they are one.

3. Hitler will be dealt with justly.

4. As for 3.

5. In effect the Dharma says "love all". The Buddha called love the "liberation of the heart". This is eternally. Love will not revert to judgement and ultimate condemnation once our time is up if not "accepted" according to your own understanding. jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.

6. The book of Job in effect asks us where we were at the foundation of the world. That we are not capable of truly comprehending. The rest is a folk tale.

At heart, the Buddha says that avidya (ignorance) is the cause of our suffering. Ignorance of Reality, as it truly is

7. We say to the child, "I am with you" as Christ does. In us and as us. We share the suffering. There are no guarantees or promises. We have trust/faith.

Thank you
@Carazaa To answer further.

In effect your own answers can be reduced to "Him up there will sort it all out at some future date". Meanwhile, we can believe and receive our due "reward" later.

For you, I suspect, the Incarnation is a one off event that happened 2000 years ago. Christ came and then went but will be back one day when His "love" will turn to wrath and judgement for those who have not "accepted" Him. Unlike yourself.

You betray this world, the world God loves, for some imagined "other".

You seem to know nothing of a truly incarnational Christianity, seeing those Churches that testify to it as "cults", as "apostates".

Now strike off at another tangent.
As I see it the only full revelation is Reality itself. Therefore anything, any word, can prove to be "authentic" for ourselves as unique individuals. All, anything, can be a truing of vision, or a developing of vision, a changing of self. There was a beautiful insight of Jane Hirshfield, that "any work of art is not a piece of fruit lifted from a tree branch; it is a ripening collaboration of artist, receiver, and world. "

Yes, a particular "Holy/Sacred" book can serve, but to seek to insist that any one is pre-eminent is to deny the spirit that blows where it will.

As far as the books cited I have at times read the works of various rabbi's as, in communion with others, they have rejoiced in the words of the Torah. Understandings, insights, intuitions and observations.....all tossed around as they explored the "word of the Lord". Differences seemed often not to matter, it was more - as I saw it - the beauty of difference.

I cannot help but feel that the key, as far as the rabbi's were concerned, was simply their faith and trust that they were chosen. Therefore they could "let go" and "let God". It seems that many, in Christianity and Islam, see themselves as having chosen God rather than having the simple (yet profound) trust of having been chosen. They seek always to convince themselves of being the "true believer", always disputing any interpretation of the words of their chosen book that is not their own.....their very salvation, as they see it, rests in being right!

I am a non-theist. I believe in no transcendent Being. The Dharma is my home. Which is everywhere, in which I live and move and have my being.
The Qur'an out of all of those.
@Babylon true it has no mistakes and it does not have “ versions”
Only translations.
@Islamreligion that's not even what I was referring to about it. In terms of authenticity, we know the scribes who wrote the books. We have reports about them, whether they were trustworthy, truthful and honest. We have the original text, carbon dated to the lifetime of the prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). An example would be the Burmingham Qur'an. Why is that one important in religious academia studies is because it was confirmed by non-Muslims about the date. There are other mushafs like it so you cannot deny its authenticity. Same with the ahadith which give time, place, and contexts to when many individual verses were revealed, as well with regards to general Islamic history. We know that Muslim history was the most academically rigorous and well documented, hence it was properly preserved. No evidence of removed verses or books and chapters, no missing contents, no unknown "authors" who are not giving direct revelation from the source, and no contradictions.

I personally was interested in knowing how the Qur'an was preserved and how the other scriptures were preserved. Alhamdulillah, I got yo know what I wanted and still try to keep learning.

Al-Baqarah - Verse 79
{
So woeto those who distort the Scripture with their own hands then say, “This is from Allah”—seeking a fleeting gain! So woe to them for what their hands have written, and woe to them for what they have earned.}

But again that verse wouldn’t answer you because you would reply with “but that’s what your religion says “
And you are right. Other religions probably say the same too.
But
It’s like 10 people writing a book and claiming it’s from a math scientist and 100% correct
But 9 in fact do not know anything about math and one is saying the truth.
The reader must research and find which one
he can rely on.
Today in 2022 you still have people creating religions. Anyone can lie about God.
Doesn’t mean he doesn’t exist or that none of the religions is real.
It’s like Gucci brand and you have fake ones trying to mimic it.

At least that is what I have done in my own journey.

The words of my SW Mistress are true and beautiful 🥰
Early Hindu texts.

They have been proven to match geo-archilogocal evidence, right down to specific dated seasonal traits , climatic changes and events.

They are the only religous texts that science has proven they recall actual events .

Which is pretty amazing .
redredred · M
@OogieBoogie similarly both the Chinese and the people now known as the French recorded the sighting of a comet with such accuracy modern astronomers have been able to identify the specific comet they recorded.
@redredred yeah?
Wow.

Im yet to look into ancient Chinese religion and texts.

I find this stuff fascinating. Origin stories from different cultures....finding similarities across religions and cultures.

They say all fables have an element of truth they are based upon.

And I think religious books are likely similar in this aspect.
@OogieBoogie
That’s interesting ~!
Here I’ll drop a few info about the Quran :
*The Quran has been memorized during the time of prophet Mohammed
* the Quran has been written during the time of prophet Mohammed and gathered right after he died
* there is a carbon dated fragments of the Quran that date right back to the time of prophet Mohammed and when compared they are exactly the same as the ones today
* Quran is the “ only “ religious scripture which is memorized word by word and by heart by millions and millions from different races and age groups around the world
Google :
“The Quran is perhaps the only book, religious or secular, that has been memorized completely by millions of people.”

*Quran has predicted events which turned out to actually happen such as 30:2-4
And history is proof of it
* Quran does not claim it’s a science book however it has many science that turned out to be true and there are many videos on youtube about it
Thank you sweetheart
Have a beautiful day
