As an adolescent I read a sci fi short story -- by Heinlein if I recall correctly -- in which a man becomes totally controlled by his watch. It so affected me, I got rid of my wristwatch and never wore one again. It is amazing how -- absence the addiction of a clock on your wrist, or your cellphone -- how much more attuned you become to your own internal clock. And how less obsessed with time you become, and more patient with circumstances and people. And you discover if you really need to check your internal clock to make sure you are on track and punctual, there almost always is a public clock on display within eyesight.

Well I’m mortal so whether I acknowledge the clock or not, time occurs.
Mostly though I view clocks as an effort to be considerate of all our ‘time’ as an interwove, complex system with many moving parts. I could do whatever I damn well pleased with no regard for the clock. This would however be rather self involved given that my actions effect others.
I suppose I could go be a hermit, but there would still be a rhythm to the ecosystem that I would have to adhere to in order to survive.

But what most people don't realize is that all times are happening at once.Past, present and future are all simultaneous.Humans only have the ability to track it one peice at a time, and that's what we call history.

Time can be a blessing or a curse, depending on perspective.

Stuck? I perhaps think not. Vivid memories defy time don't they? What about when you have dreams about the past that feel so real?

So,from the fact that you hearted my reply can I assume you are aware of the principle I described?
Well it exists but I guess we could stop measuring it.
