Well I’m mortal so whether I acknowledge the clock or not, time occurs.
Mostly though I view clocks as an effort to be considerate of all our ‘time’ as an interwove, complex system with many moving parts. I could do whatever I damn well pleased with no regard for the clock. This would however be rather self involved given that my actions effect others.
I suppose I could go be a hermit, but there would still be a rhythm to the ecosystem that I would have to adhere to in order to survive.
