We don't know for sure. But there are places here on Earth where you can see and hear strange noises daily.

The explanation accompanying this video explains
The Helix Nebula is 655 light-years away from us, and 3 light-years across! Near the end of a Sun-like star’s life, nebulae like this form when the star sheds some of its outer material.
In this sonification, red light is assigned lower pitches and blue light is assigned higher pitches. Just as the frequencies of light increase from red to blue, frequencies of sound increase from low to high pitches. While there’s no sound in space, sonifications like this help us conceptualize the data in astronomical images in a new, auditory way!
(Sonification is the use of non-speech audio to convey information or perceptualize data.) - Text inside brackets my addition.

@Gusman The coolest sound is black at both ends 😆

Not sure, sounds scary.
Beebo · M
It's probably the sound of a black hole. We wouldn't want to be caught up in one, wouldn't be good.

You have never heard when they send microphones deep into the earth and you can hear screaming

Can we even trust NASA?

@nedkelly ralf rangnick has his own living hell at old trafford ned 😄

Lol. It’ disturbing for sure, but that’s actually an image of a nebula taken by the Hubble telescope then converted to sound. The color was matched to pitch and brightness to volume using some advanced technology. So it’s not exactly a ‘real’ sound.

SW-User
Reminds me of the signal picked up by the Nostromo.

@SW-User In space no one can hear you scream.
Just as good today as when it was released.
