As a truck driver its difficult for me to exercise because I'm in my truck 12 to 14 hours a day and I've still been able to lose 50 lbs this year doing an Atkins diet which is alot of meat, cheese, and eggs, and other food with low or no carbs

@Bigmike2523 Losing 50 lbs is fantastic! I'm sure you look much more attractive now.
Bigmike2523 · 46-50, M
@helenS I know my gf is really liking it, I just wish my progress would I motivate her to do the same
helenS · 36-40, F
@Bigmike2523 I'm sure you can help her.

Regarding weight loss, it's not important what you eat. The only thing that counts is calories; your daily calorie intake.
==> Eat and drink whatever (!) you like; enjoy your meals; look forward to your next meal. But always count to 1,600 calories a day, and then stop eating. Learn to live with a feeling of hunger, especially in the evening. Next morning your hunger will be gone.

@RopinTexan Your BMI is 22, meaning your weight is healthy and normal. Your weight should be between 56 and 72kg. Your basal metabolism will require ~ 1600 calories a day.
Congratulations.

@helenS 1600 calories isn't enough for some people ... it's dangerous for me to eat that little regardless ... exercise is important ... what you eat is important ... the types of calories are important ...
helenS · 36-40, F
@pdockal 1600 calories are required by his(*) basal metabolism = necessary calorie intake when doing nothing.

(*) considering his age, height, and weight

It's all about calories in vs calories out. Period. Exercise is critical as well.

I snack constantly. I can't let myself get very hungry or I binge.
SW-User
@Myocite I'm the opposite. If I start to eat I cant stop. So I weigh all my food and portions just so I wont over eat (not restricted tho, I still eat normal amounts)
Myocite · F
@SW-User I do the same, BUT only foods I can barely tolerate are allowed in my house. Otherwise they're completely eaten.
One of the important things, I think, is to avoid snacking between meals and avoid fizzy drinks etc. I have coffee and croissant for breakfast, usually a sandwich for lunch, maybe a biscuit with tea mid afternoon, and dinner at night. Yoga three times a week helps tone too. Good luck

sugar anad carbs? I was told it was a matter of burning off more than you tak ein. Do you exercise? Perhaps keep a food log of what you eat every day. Chips? Sweets?
helenS · 36-40, F
@Docdon23 Usually it's chips+beer+"passive football"
Drop carbs, drop most forms of sugar .
Eliminate all processed food .

Its not so much about how much you eat, as to what and when you eat .

Periodic fasting is effective .
Don't make food routines.

Keeping your body in burn mode is important ...so no snacking, no regular meals .

Walk, walk and walk.
Wear your joggers

Put in your earphones and listen to whatever you like and then walk and just walk.

Meat isn't the only caloric binding food.
If you’re under a lot of stress that can do it

What do you eat?
What does your day in food look like?
@dark548 I was going to make an inappropriate joke here bits it a serious thread so I won't!
Myocite · F
@dark548 avocados, tuna/salmon, eggs, whole wheat bread, cruciferous vegetables, etc.
SW-User
@dark548 lots of things, I barely eat any carbs (because i dont work out that much) and maybe 1-2 pieces of fruit a day (also carbs in fruit). The rest is mostly protein, works for me. I've lost 35kg since I started to take out the carbs from my diet

I know a way but it's not fun

Drink lots of water, eat a balanced diet. Do t drink your calories with pop or sugary drinks. Exercise everyday and track your food intake.
