Yes. That is often what happens in a crisis. People show you who they really are and what they’re about. Some folks step up, but others really step down. 😒
@bijouxbroussard As I just told someone else, it seems like all the crazies just crawled out from their holes the minute the news reports started coming in about George Floyd and the subsequent riots 🤷🏾♂️.
@SubstantialKick Yeah. Someone who “jokes” a lot posted the following:
“Black people have their own sense of justice, like they have their own sense of the English language and call it Ebonics. They twist everything around, and then cry racism when nothing they do makes sense”
He later claimed he said it to “trigger crybabies”.
Yep. A lot of disappointments since some of them have been users I liked or didn't really have any issue with. But hey, if they're no good and have been all along... 🤷♀️
@TinyViolins I always think that I could be, even unintentionally. I talk to my girlfriend a lot... and listen. You have to truly listen to understand.
@JustGoneNow True, but far too many of the people doing the talking are the ones that understand the least. I imagine that it can get exhausting after a while
Not just here. All over the internet. But I’ve been able to pick through. I honestly haven’t posted anything about what’s happening because political discussion on SW rarely seems productive. I have other ways I support those suffering besides a public internet post. It seems many spend their time posting and reposting what supports their views without much thought to it. I prefer to take it all in and process it in doses and have meaningful conversations with others. Support people in my life and around me however I can.
This pandemic has shown the true colours of many people. Add some fear or recklessness too. And some degree of stupidity and selfishness. And then there are the ones who spread hope and optimism and love. Safely.
@JustGoneNow I hear you. You must move forward. Learn from the past including your previous words. Try to be more spontaneous. You are cared for and even loved here. It is safe.
