@Abstraction non... she accused me of the racism. And i make no assumptions about anything. Im telling you this is processes work and you guys are simply more interested in your own judgments. It wont matter at this point anyway. The inciters will no doubt inspire someone to inflict violence on him if not his family. And she kept saying "i dont know what its like becausei dont live there", well is that to say swastika are now flying the streets of Washington?
You can tell her I hold no ill will, but util she starts to let go of some of her own intolerance, she'll always feel this way.

@HeteroDox 'Non'?
i like her a lot, but if the colour of my skin or my financial and social status are all it took for it then I'm ok with it.
That's what's known as an accusation of racism. It seems you lack basic self awareness.
HeteroDox · 41-45, F
@Abstraction i refer actually to a comment she made about "rich white people" earlier last night and I said nothing...
...and FYI? i'm mixed race but then only white poeple are racist I bet eh?, and what i said - (perhaps its cognitive comprehension you lack?) if the colour of MY skin was all it takes then fine.' "MY".... do you need English lesson as well? Its not even my first.
I called Al Sharpton a fat con man who could care less about his own people is exactly what i said the and called me racist and blocked me. anyone who can see his behaviour can attest.... Good work white knight - you stuck your nose into what isnt your business.
We wont even touch at your manners eh?

It is maddening when what certainly appears to be murder or manslaughter does not result in an immediate arrest.
The important part isn't the arrest. It's conviction and punishment. If law enforcement is going to build a proper case, they need to move swiftly but carefully. The factors involved in this will almost certainly include union activity in addition to defense lawyers, prosecutors, the police department and the FBI, as well as outside outrage, which is warranted.
I don't blame anyone for being furious. I am too. George Floyd did not get due process and even if he had he would not have been executed. These officers - the one who committed the atrocity and those who allowed him to do it, must be held to account. But it can't be slipshod work subject to failure because of hasty action. We've seen that happen too often.
They have to do this right and make it stick.

Because the incident is under investigation by the Minnesota Criminal Apprehension Bureau and the FBI. A thorough investigation will be conducted before a charging decision is made. An autopsy, including toxicology analysis must be completed and a full medical examiner's report delivered.
Officer statements have to be taken, witnesses interviewed, and reports written. Cellphone, surveillence, and police bodycam video and audio has to be reviewed. Some video may need to be sent to FBI technicians for enhancement. Police procedures and regulations will have to be reviewed. The officers' training records and past conduct will be reviewed.
When these things are done, I am confident at least one officer will be charged via a bill of information or via a grand jury indictment with negligent homicide, manslaughter or perhaps even murder. But it may take some time. Let's be patient.

@quitwhendone We’ll see. You know the fellow who choked Eric Garner to death back in 2014 (Daniel Pantaleo) is free, and suing to get his job back.
quitwhendone · M
@bijouxbroussard And he has a good chance of getting it back.
bijouxbroussard · F
@quitwhendone He does, indeed.

Seems like every time this happens, the cops are always acquitted. I'm not expecting much, but we can hope for justice to be done. The cops really need to stop treating people like this--it's ridiculous.
bijouxbroussard · F
@HeteroDox Oh, okay. Thanks for letting me know who you are. Wish I’d seen it sooner. Goodbye.
HeteroDox · 41-45, F
@bijouxbroussard Seen what? So to you I am racist because i can identify a con man? I thoght you were a deeper person than this.
HeteroDox · 41-45, F
@bijouxbroussard Im sorry you see yoru life as a victim.... if it means anything, i think youre an awesome person, but i am no more racist than you.
LegendofPeza · 61-69, M
Because he hasn't been charged with anything. And if and when he ever is , he still most likely won't spend a single night in custody.

Same reason the police officer who choked Eric Garner to death in 2014 isn’t. He was fired, but someone will certainly hire him. And Barr waited until things quieted down to drop any federal charges. I’d love to be wrong, but I could see a similar outcome here.
Donald Trump even said “Police have to stop coddling these people “, so his remarks about how “sad George Floyd’s death is” were rather disingenuous.

They immediately lost their jobs within a short time of the incident. So for once, something did happen. I still don't think that it's enough, though.

@bijouxbroussard If anything, those pieces of scum deserve to be cleaning toilets at a bus station.

It breaks my heart everytime I see this happen. I'm so tired of seeing this. It's disgusting.

There are a bunch of officers that can get away with almost anything. They don't go to jail unless they broke the law of their duty. Ironically, they're supposed to protect and serve as well as to enforce laws. Can't just expect for him/her to go to jail unless for valid reasons.

@Mmagirl not all cops (or even most cops) are bad or racist. There is a danger in lumping them all together. I heard a saying earlier today: "Everyone hates a cop until your house is robbed."
