Disney World has just announced they will start taking reservations for June 1st.

What do you think of Disney staying closed until June?
windinhishair · 61-69, M
There is no way Disney will be ready to open on June 1. The coronavirus will still be ravaging the nation. Maybe they can open by June 1, 2021.

@Stereoguy You should have plenty of time in retirement when this is over and becomes an annual issue of a vaccination. If you take the northern route in fall, you may have to deal with September snowfalls in the mountains and possibly the northern plains. It would be better to leave earlier to make sure snowy weather doesn't close some of the locations you want to go to. Make sure you leave plenty of time for the southwest deserts. It is an acquired taste for easterners, but no one I have ever introduced to the four deserts has regretted it.

Necessary. EVERYBODY goes there when they are sick. They would rather throw up all over the place there then reschedule their vacations. They pick their noses and touch everything. The kids lick the windows and rails for the wait lines... Let them stay closed.

@Stereoguy it’s a couple of months away so who knows but I think it’s wishful thinking we haven’t even peaked yet. That won’t be for a while and then it will take a while before we can even think we stand a chance of not getting sick.

I spend my Summers on the lake by my house. Best lake anywhere. Disney is an overrated, overpriced cesspool.
OkieNTheHouse · 22-25, M
@Chevy454 Oh come on...Okie means someone from Oklahoma. You didn't know that? 😉
Chevy454 · 46-50, M
Yea I really did, but living in Florida I hear it all the time too. I know Okies, Sooners!!@OkieNTheHouse
OkieNTheHouse · 22-25, M
@Chevy454 Yep!

@Harriet03 yup. I suspect they'll be up and running soon.

hopefully we're about to hit the peak soon.

my concern is that if they open too soon (they get so many international visitors) that we might get another recurrence.

@Pretzel Not a chance!!
Nyloncapes · 61-69, M
What year , they are living in a dream world if they think they will be fully operating by then , I hope I'm wrong

They should stay closed until there is no threat to anyone. This is irresponsible of them-even if they can cancel this at a later date.
Johnblackthorn · 56-60, M
I have absolutely no thoughts on it whatsoever.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Nowhere near long enough. Check the fine print and make sure they are refundable.😷
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Stereoguy As heartless as this sounds, there will be a fall in numbers as the weak die and the rest gradually become immume, until a vaccine is found. That is just how it works.

@whowasthatmaskedman Even that is just a guess since there is a possibility that some people have been infected with covid 19 multiple times. If that turns out to be right a vaccine might be the only thing that ends this.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Good.Wondering how many pedos working there will be arrested before then. They’ve arrested some in higher jobs there already this past year

when we got news about the covid19 and the lockdown,

Disney should remained closed indefinitely. People should stay home and save their money. They are going to need it.
Pretzel · 61-69, M
I live in florida- they don't close for tropical storms - only hurricanes

so this virus must really be something to close down a multi million dollar company

@Stereoguy nice RV. My brother and his wife spent the winter in Florida. Now they are headed back to Wisconsin. They have ran into a problem. All the state operated campgrounds in Illinois are closed due to the virus. The privately owned ones are full. So they are setting in a campground in Eva, TN, near Camden until they can find someplace to stay. They can not drive all the way home in one day.

@Stereoguy Yup in Publix I know
Degbeme · 70-79, M
That`s being a little to optimistic I think.
Byron8by7 · M
@Degbeme There is optimism, and there is stupidity (fueled by Disney corporate greed). No one in their right mind would book a vacation to such an environment that would embody the antithesis of social distancing.
Either way it is either a scam or a corporate pipe dream.

Don’t really care. Never go there, but that’s a little long June?? Really??

It’s weird that we think we can predict 2 full months from now. That’s optimistic but hopefully they can be open by then
