What do you think of Disney staying closed until June?

There is no way Disney will be ready to open on June 1. The coronavirus will still be ravaging the nation. Maybe they can open by June 1, 2021.

@Stereoguy We are already in serious trouble. We've had Trump as president, and he has bungled the first several months of the virus response. Now we as a nation get to pay the price for his malfeasance.

@Stereoguy He's done such a fantastic job that the US leads the world in coronavirus cases. Numbers don't lie. His response has been abysmal and continues to be. Face it--he just isn't up to the task, which was obvious from the day he was elected.

@Stereoguy Yes we are. The facts don't lie. There are more cases in the US than in any other country on earth, and they are accelerating. We have more cases now than China has had since the virus originated there. You should get serious--your beloved leader is killing Americans. Mostly urban Americans in blue states for now. Just wait until Americans start dying in rural red states while you continue to worship his every tepid move.

@Stereoguy What numbers are you looking at? The US leads the world in the number of cases. Italy currently leads in the number of deaths, but the US should eclipse that in April.

What deal? There is no deal between governors, and the Florida governor is a Republican, Ron DeSantis, one of Trump's most rabid supporters.

@Stereoguy Don't use data from weeks ago.

Here are the most current data:

@Stereoguy How nice. Then you know that since Thursday, the US has had the most confirmed coronavirus cases in the world. In fact, right now between 17 and 19 percent of all the cases in the world are in the US.

@Stereoguy We're not being told the truth by the White House, not that it is surprising in any way. The case numbers for the US are probably pretty accurate based on reporting by the states, as is the death rate. Cases are probably underestimated for China, and Russia isn't reporting anything but closed their borders, which tells you more is going on than they are letting on. Death rates seem to depend on the availability of good health care, which is why it is so important to keep our case levels down and spread out. If we overwhelm our health care resources, or death rate will go up, like it has in Italy and Spain.

@Stereoguy To be honest, unless someone finds a cure earlier, we will have to wait for a vaccine late in 2021, and will be subject to periodic lockdowns off and on until then. Dr. Fauci predicted about 200,000 could die, but that's if we do everything right. We will see, but you will likely be out of RVing until 2022. Great way to travel, by the way.

@Stereoguy That is what you have to do. And when the summer of 2022 rolls around, you can take your RV to all of the great places you know and celebrate life.

@Stereoguy You should have plenty of time in retirement when this is over and becomes an annual issue of a vaccination. If you take the northern route in fall, you may have to deal with September snowfalls in the mountains and possibly the northern plains. It would be better to leave earlier to make sure snowy weather doesn't close some of the locations you want to go to. Make sure you leave plenty of time for the southwest deserts. It is an acquired taste for easterners, but no one I have ever introduced to the four deserts has regretted it.
