Why do you think online "debaters" are so aggressive?

Anonymartyr · M Best Comment
because in real life they accomplish nothing of any consequence.
Gouzi · 26-30, M
@Anonymartyr I think you're right. If you were dedicating yourself to something, you wouldn't have the energy to do this.

There's no debate online, just arguments. People don't read to understand, but to respond.
Gouzi · 26-30, M
@SW-User Yep. I had a discussion last night, and this man just tried to belittle me.

@Gouzi Usually happens when they run out of ideas and get a feel that they have been wrong all this time. They don't have any other means to stop you other than trying to beat you down with their nastiness. Their arguments are purely emotional than factual.

There are two types:

Liberals who have emotional ideas and presume everyone is dumb if you do not parrot what they think. They use identity politics to try to ridicule you. No facts just attacks. When arguing with non followers they attempt to be morally superior requiring you to post links to your arguments so they can ridicule your sources but give a pass to fellow liberals. Further they always attempt to define your argument with heavy usage of straw men.

Conservatives who state their ideas and presume you are dealing with an intellectual individual. After a few attacks they receive they usually choose to disengage. Some defend and point out flaws on the liberal argument just to trigger them.

I dont think things are as aggressive as people think half the time. We read things and assume the emotion behind it which messes up the communication.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
For me, it's cos I'm naturally aggressive in real life and so it affects most of my life, including my social media.
Because their noses aren't punchable.

@Mamapolo2016 I'm so happy to see you! You have been gone a while!
Thank you! That's nice to hear. Trying to exercise moderation.@curiosi

They're not face to face, so, they feel like they can say anything.
shaelan · 41-45, M
They don't have to face their opponents in reality.
curiosi · 61-69, F
Getting their frustrations out.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
They don't know how to debate.
RoadieJay · 61-69, M
I wonder if some people feel that the others online are not quite "real" in the way that someone is in person. Manners seem to go out the window frequently.
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
I dont even do this in real life! That's just too much energy wasted
AlienZipper · 61-69, M
Because in real life no one pays any attention to them..
