How can a person be both poor and happy?

I am having a very hard time understanding how they can be. Especially since now I am one of them. I mean all I've been doing is worrying about everything. How am I going to pay for this? For that? What am I going to do when I can no longer live here? How to prevent others from knowing of my tragic downfall? There is no time or energy left for being happy.
The first trick is to learn the difference between ‘I want’ and ‘I need.’

A whole lot of the things we now consider as necessities didn’t even exist fifty or a hundred years ago, so they can’t be basic necessities because people lived without them since time began.
@Addictedtoglamour No, dear. You are you. The jacket is window dressing.

Your mission now is not to try to ‘look like you’ but to actually dig down deep and BE YOU. If the image is all you need, try the jacket on and take a selfie. That’s just as really you as if you owned the jacket.

And if you DID own the jacket, how long would it be before the magic wore off and you spied an avant- garde little number made of paper clips?

@Mamapolo2016 Honestly I'm horrible with clothes. There are two kinds. The core kind I almost always reuse and then there is the clubbing and going out kind. With the going out kind I usually wear entire outfits once and try to not duplicate them. I will mix and match them around but I try not to do the same outfit twice. Hence why I need a massive closet. That is a good idea though to take photos in expensive outfits and pretend I am still fabulous. Might make me feel a bit better. The magic does wear off after the first wear usually unless the piece was super special.
@Addictedtoglamour If you go after disposable happiness, that’s what you’ll end up with.
As far as people knowing about your tragic downfall is concerned, likely the response you would get if you called everybody you know and told them would be something like ‘Bummer. Join the crowd.’
@Addictedtoglamour Wouldn’t you have done the same?

@Mamapolo2016 laughed? No I would have felt bad.
@Addictedtoglamour Then people will feel the same about you.

Money is just one tool (of many) to secure necessities to achieve happiness. If your perception of money is that it is the sole source of your happiness, then you are deceiving yourself and will never be happy... not really.

@MarkPaul idk all about this guy. But I can't keep going the way I am going. I must take a 401 k K Koran out just to keep up with bills. Cus read below my reply to him. I think I have it worse than this guy. But my done just graduated. Se he will stay at home and get a job to help out.

But, you have the love of your grand-kids.
Jonjdw · 46-50, M
@MarkPaul I do. But not if we are homeless. We may not even be together. It could destroy everything. But I believe everything will be ok. But still just saying. That I can't keep up this for to long. And my daughter has a drug problem too. But all three kids live at home and grandsons. I threw the father of the grandsones out cus he lost another job. Like the fifth one in three years. He only worked like 6 months of the last three years. Should of thrown him out long ago.

@Addictedtoglamour I hate that. World would be fairer if there wasn’t so much ignorant greed.
Addictedtoglamour · 31-35, M
@twistermind I think I made it only to the first level as of now. I used to be up a bit higher. Oh wait isn't this the Maslow thing?
twistermind · 51-55, F
@Addictedtoglamour I don’t think so. I think it’s a pretty accurate picture of human needs. What I think it’s happens is that when we are up, we forget about the value of having a lower stage and we take it for granted.

Have the same thing going on. I have two grandkids the father of the grandkids does not want to work so now I have to support them all. Can't do that. I have to take out a 401(k) loan. After that I don't know. With out The 401(k) loan. Would lose my house and everything.

I'm one of them too. Honestly, cut time in for yourself to not worry about anything whatsoever. Find your aphrodisiac, even if you have to learn to appreciate the little thinges. You can only handle things a step at a time. Overwhelming yourself will get you nowhere.
Because you don't need money to be happy. Happiness is a mindset of appreciation :)

Addictedtoglamour · 31-35, M
@okaybut Freedom to do as I please without worry
okaybut · 56-60, M
@Addictedtoglamour Do you have the freedom to control what you think?
twistermind · 51-55, F
@okaybut True. Thoughts always belong to us.

It's an illusion. No such thing as happiness. Poor.? Poor self esteem.
