Atlanta, NYC, Boston and Philly

DC. No contest. 😉
Smalltown, USA......give me the smaller towns, where people wave, and nod, and seem to have a patriotic spirit.

I vote for Smalltown, USA.
@JustLikeGreta I'm in Santa Fe, which isn't REALLY a city, which works for me
losthorizons · 51-55, M
Inwould like to visit Albuquerque 😀

NYC, diversity, culture, all the city accessible by public trans. Intentional travel available from a major hub.

Boston, loaded with history of the founding of our nation, but terrible roads and drivers.

Philly, I live 45 minutes west of it. Nice having teaching hospitals so close by, a major airport and strong educational community.

Atlanta, not as familiar, but a large city with country surrounding.
The first three have different claims. I'm not personally crazy about Philly - but it probably does too.

Greatest how? Climate, diversity, ease of navigating, there are so many things.

NYC, I guess...it's got everything except climate. And easy navigating. Food, culture, entertainment, business, transportation, literary and musical communities, good colleges, medical centers.

@losthorizons No. I would visit San Francisco first. And I already know NYC.

Depends on what is defined as great. Financial and economic power; cultural influence; pleasant place to live.

Mama polo. How so
@losthorizons It's rather like Santa Fe has the REASON for a city, but Quirky has the city.

I'm a recent transplant. Spent a fair amount of time in Albuquerque, though. They are close enough it's easy travel from one to the other.

Quirky's got some significant crime issues - not like DC or some other places - but enough. I'm not sure if SF just isn't big enough to bother with - or more likely, tourist trade is valuable enough to protect.

Philly out of those three.
LA is better than any of them though as far cities go.
