The key is acknowledging that they are in fact toxic...that they bring you more darkness than light and you deserve to surround yourself with those who feed the light instead of extinguishing it. You have to allow yourself to have that because no one else can decide that for you.
The love you have for them doesn’t just disappear overnight because you decide your journey is better without them in, but over time it does fade away as Love from purer sources erases the darkness masked as love that they’ve left behind.
Focus on the light and it’ll help heal you tremendously. You can do this. Good luck ☮

@PerfectionOfTheHeart Mine will never fade, as it is my daughter. But she is toxic. At least, she is for me. She has rage. She directs it at me, because the people she is really angry with are not available.

@Serenitree I’m so sorry to hear that. Hers is a love that’ll always stay with you, as it should. I just wish it didn’t include such darkness :(
I’ll be sending light your way.

@PerfectionOfTheHeart Thank you. She used to be my best friend, then life happened, and she changed. Unfortunately we simply can't be in the same place together.

love yourself. the more you love yourself the more you will naturally avoid what is bad for you and go towards what is good for you. how do you do that? think of how you would act towards you best friend, what advice you would give her, what you would want for her then, be that kind of friend for yourself, be your best friend.

@SW-User thanks. when I was younger I often heard those words "love yourself" but I really only understood what it meant when someone explained it to me the way I wrote it right now and then a light came on in my head " oh, that's what self love means, to be my own best friend"

Absolutely bug diffrence between narcissism and liking and loving who you are 😌✌️@reflectingmonkey

[@PerfectionOfTheHeart] for the record... I wasnt playing anyone. @SW-User

@ImTheOne I meant ignorant to the internal effects a toxic relationship can bring.
The first love can be hard to get over because it was the first time our heart experienced Love on that level, but if they turned out to be toxic then you really shouldn’t hold onto the cord that connects their heart to yours. They don’t deserve to be connected to you if they caused you pain. Sever it and the healing will begin.
Regardless, peace be with you.

You have a good word with yourself and you call them out and move on to better people 💜

@SW-User is it weird that even though he has been a horrible person to me I feel bad reciprocating the behaviour to him? I guess I'm either too loving or stupid
SW-User
You will know your worth throughout the process. Stay strong , love
AliceMortem · 31-35, F
@SW-User Thank you. I need to believe in myself more
SW-User
Yes. You need to realise the positive things about yourself and know your worth.

Block them and avoid them. Out of sight out of mind.
