Over my life it took me about 100 hours of therapy to come to terms with the degradation inflicted on me as a child/young adult.
Until one day I decided that I had been "therupped out".
I knew who I was and why I was who I was.
I was able to accept that what happened to me was beyond my control and I learnt to accept that I am who I am because of that early life of adversity. It made me a very powerful, empathetic person and I love the person I have become.

Two hundred. And not a day more. If you haven't got it together by then, you just have to learn to accept that you aren't perfect and love yourself any how.
Or, you can decide that nobody else is ever going to get rich off your pain. That's what did it for me. My psychiatrist said I'd always be crazy. That there's no help for me. I asked him why he said he needed to see me twice a week if he couldn't help me. He told me that he gets paid whether or not I get better, and why shouldn't he.
"I have to listen to you people whine and cry all day. I deserve to be well paid!"
I walked out that day, and said never again. And saw my family doctor, asked if he could prescribe some antidepressants, he did. They work for me. I've never looked back.

@OverMe I'm on Zoloft. Have been since 1996.

@Serenitree I had a bad reaction to Zoloft many years ago. Glad it's working for you tho!

@OverMe I've known others who had bad experiences with it. For me, it's been a miracle. Keeps me steady. No super ups, and no super downs. I just seem able to cope with things easier.

@MonsterX Monster. Why would you behave in this way, on someone else's post? You came here saying you hate people like her. When she objected you backpeddled and said it's not real hate. Still, she didn't like that you came, with nothing but nastiness to give, instead of offering either moral support or simply saying nothing.
And youhave the unmitigated gall to say she is rude?
You owe her an apology.

I quit all that, smoked weed and practice stoicism. Working pretty great

Maybe try different therapists, there are better therapies now. I've been to probably 8 therapists. Some just 1 session because she/he would not work for me, Others did help a bit.

Give up living?
Are you telling the therapist everything? Even the stuff you don’t want to say? Even how you are feeling now?

I quit awhile ago. It's all the same mumbo jumbo.
