How many years of therapy and meds do you think is enough before it's acceptable for someone to finally just give up?

Two hundred. And not a day more. If you haven't got it together by then, you just have to learn to accept that you aren't perfect and love yourself any how.

Or, you can decide that nobody else is ever going to get rich off your pain. That's what did it for me. My psychiatrist said I'd always be crazy. That there's no help for me. I asked him why he said he needed to see me twice a week if he couldn't help me. He told me that he gets paid whether or not I get better, and why shouldn't he.

"I have to listen to you people whine and cry all day. I deserve to be well paid!"

I walked out that day, and said never again. And saw my family doctor, asked if he could prescribe some antidepressants, he did. They work for me. I've never looked back.

@Serenitree What medication are you taking?
Serenitree · F
@OverMe I'm on Zoloft. Have been since 1996.

@Serenitree I had a bad reaction to Zoloft many years ago. Glad it's working for you tho!

@OverMe I've known others who had bad experiences with it. For me, it's been a miracle. Keeps me steady. No super ups, and no super downs. I just seem able to cope with things easier.
