Can I unbestfriend?

I had a guy bestfriend for almost 3 yrs. We have a very clean relationship and it feels like I can't live without him. Until 2017 came and gradually everything has change. We both knew our flaws but it seems like when he knew mine, something change. We are still good friends especially at college but it was unlike before. It feels like we're just classmates/friends now? not a bestfriend thing. lately I knew he was calling someone "bestfriend" too. Am I jealous or what? but it feels sucks. I still try to get back to our old relatioship but he's too busy. Anyway...

I remember the first time I heard my (ex)bestfriend calling somebody else their bestfriend. I felt like "daaamn.. really? you'll call him that in front of me even?" Anyway.. I felt similar.

@HuckleberryFriend well it sounds like jealousy and understand. I'd also be jealous. But if you're going to try and fix things, you're going to have to tell him what your fears are. hopefully he listens. If not then I guess it's over🤷‍♂️

Did he perhaps want more ? Maybe a romantic relationship with you and you unwittingly shot him down . Now to save face and avoid embarrassment , he is distancing himself ? Men CANT have a long term close friend relationship with a woman and NOT want to make it romantic/sexual . The fact that he suddenly has grown cold to you without an explanation suggests my theory shouldn’t be completely ignored . Good luck 😁
