Where in Canada is best to live? (city, place, east/west, state, etc)

The west is beautiful, expensive with work opportunities,...

Central (Ontario) is great, has its own beauty, lakes, escarpment etc.. Work opportunities are good and it's relatively affordable..

Quebec is a great province but the language can be a challenge..

The east (Atlantic Canada) is beautiful, the people are great its affordable but work opportunities are limited..

I would ay Ontario in and area called the golden triangle (SW Ontario from Toronto to Windsor) is the best option.. It's where most of the jobs are and offers a broad range of housing, entertainment and really nice people...
@Majorlatency The only provinces to live in would be Ontario or BC (British Columbia). I agree with your other comments.

@PoetryNEmotion Oh, you are sooooooooo sweeeeeeeeeeet! I'd move to Canada just for you 🤗😘 Thank you for the support :))xxx
@BittersweetPotato *beams* Why you are so welcome! And kind. If you post here like Dan did, you will get lots of advice. I am but one person. You are young and will do fine wherever your lovely heart decides to go. :)

@PoetryNEmotion Wait Toronto is expensive? Which would you say is more expensive, Toronto or Vancouver ?

Where would you suggest living then, since you don't seem to like Toronto?
@BittersweetPotato Big cities are expensive because everyone goes there to start. Vancouver is so much more expensive. There are parts of the cities that are less expensive. Outside of them is better, but then you have to commute. Hope you have a car then. It depends on what you want to do and what you like. Younger people your age tend to like cities even more so if you come from larger ones. I gotta go. I hope this helps. So many things to think of when moving. Research. Network. Talk to people. When you get somewhere, you can always move. Note that larger cities like Toronto have fewer rental places too.

@PoetryNEmotion Thank you for the info :)) Yes very helpful, maybe I will have a chat with you some time if you have time.

I would recomend the Maritimes. The job market is not booming here like perhaps out west, or the GTA, but it is beautiful here.. the people are friendly, and know how to have a good time. ;)
MougyWolf · 36-40, M
@PoetryNEmotion The small community I grew up in apparently was a bustling little place 50 years ago, but is a sleeply little place now. I moved to SJ for a while, a long while, a small city, but a city.. and after 8 years or so, grew sick of the toxicity from the industry, and the people, and I moved back into the sticks, the next small community over from where I grew up. It's quiet here, not a lot going on, but that's the way I like it.
@MougyWolf I am glad you are happy, Mougy.

@dunpender anywhere they don't speak french for me!
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
@dunpender Agreed :) I'd love to go to Quebec so that I am forced to learn French but then I need to find a job O.o and my French isn't that good!
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@BittersweetPotato In Montreal they speak a lot of english/
LucyCan · 26-30, F
Canada has provinces- not states. Try London, Ontario or Kamloops, BC
MethDozer · M
@LucyCan If you're going to be a pedantic thorn then get it correct. They have provinces and territories. Northwest, Yukon and Nunavut are territories, not provinces.

these are making for great screen shots.

I was convinced of Vancouver until your question made me do more research and now I am confused again! Toronto seems to be more career focused and this is very important to me! But I think weather wise Toronto is Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay colder than Vancouver and I hope anyone will correct me if I am wrong O.o
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
@PoetryNEmotion Thank you my dear :)x It is quite scary indeed, but really too exciting for me. Looking for a place where I will be rewarded for my professional background which I worked hard to accomplish but I don't see that happening here as the market isn't fair, plus I am longing for a free and independent life away from the family, I am really seeing a better future over there and so I am working towards it!
@BittersweetPotato The world is enormous, MissGaga. And there are so many things to do. So many opportunities too. I am glad you are living life. You will do fine wherever you plant your lovely feet.
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
@PoetryNEmotion :) Yes, I am glad I realised this a bit early too! Thank you my dear for the incredible support! Huggggs 💓xxx

Depends what you're looking for (work, cost of living, climate, etc)
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@Salix75 a lot of people, english, and easy to find housing. Also with less syrians if possible
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
@Salix75 Suppose I am someone who is looking to find a good career opportunity, which would you suggest, Toronto or Vancouver?
The prairies!
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@IsaTheBella which ones would you recommend? ..where people speak mainly english
@Dan193 After reading your replies to others, I don't think we'd want you here 🤔 Don't get me wrong, we prairie folks are generally warm-hearted, welcoming and open-minded people. But we have no use for anymore xenophobes.
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@IsaTheBella wtf? xD you wouldn't want me there? what's wrong with me? And I'm not a xenophobe, if you're talking about me mentioning the syrians. I got nothing against them. I just figured with the recent flood of immigrant syrians in canada, I would rather go in a different place than where they are settling, since they would take (if they didn't already take) all the available jobs in those rigions. So I'd rather go in a place with less competition, since I'd be looking for a job as well. It's nothing cultural, I'm just planning ahead, weighting the pros and cons of ways which would make it easier for me. I mean wouldn't everyone do that?

Alberta - No place like that, else where.
MethDozer · M
Wherever it's like Heartland. The show sucks but that must be the best place to live on the planet.
@MethDozer That's good, yes the show totally sucks, but it is filmed in and around High River, Alberta, with additional filming in studio and on location in nearby Calgary... I wouldn't recommend Alberta right now, t's boom or bust and it's wealth is dependent on the oil and mineral projects in the region.. Right now it's bust.. Not a lot of work...
MethDozer · M
@PoetryNEmotion It's way better than Little Mosque on the Prairie.

I only really know east of Ontario.
MethDozer · M
@Majorlatency That's not like Heartland then.
