I was convinced of Vancouver until your question made me do more research and now I am confused again! Toronto seems to be more career focused and this is very important to me! But I think weather wise Toronto is Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay colder than Vancouver and I hope anyone will correct me if I am wrong O.o

@BittersweetPotato No one can really afford to live in Vancouver except extremely wealthy people these days. It's an example of immigration, gentrification, and diversity run amok and out of control.

@MethDozer I am really surprised of what I am hearing, I made some research and asked around, the rent is very reasonable and is something I can totally afford out of savings until I get a job, I also connected with people from Vancouver and the cost of living is way cheaper than where I am right now, am I really wealthy and I don't know 😅🤔

@BittersweetPotato I know people who live there as well and have for years. Also done the research. The price of a home is insane and the cost of living very high. You must not have done much research because even a surface web search will say otherwise. It's one of the most stressed affordability cities in Canada and even placed in the top of least affordable cities in the world.

It's why there are less and less native Vancouverians(?) and families with roots to there. Sad.

@MethDozer I have actually researched apartment rent in several areas in Vancouver and asked people who live there to verify the info on the internet and yes it is really affordable, I probably have this view because I come from a country where rent is really high and everything is very pricy.

Expensive is relative after all.
MethDozer · M
@BittersweetPotato Well, that could be. However it is still listed as the most expensive place to live in the world outside of HongKong so what you say is surprising.
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
@MethDozer I am not saying it is not expensive, I know it is, what I am saying is that per the rent research and my queries, it doesn't seem to me like a shockingly expensive place to live in, specially for someone like me who's coming from a city that's also often listed as one of the most expensive places to live in.
MethDozer · M
@BittersweetPotato What urban nightmare place do you come from that the 2nd least affordable place to live is cheaper?
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
@MethDozer I am sorry I don't like disclosing my place, but it is somwhere here

and if you make a guess, just keep it to yourself and don't post it!
MethDozer · M
@BittersweetPotato Oh sorry if you thought I was seriously asking that. I would never ask someone or expect them to say that. Agree 100% with you.
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
@MethDozer No it is okay, it was a discussion over places, so it would be okay if you asked about the location lol :)
@BittersweetPotato Vancouver is on the coast so it is rainy more and mild compared to Toronto. It is easier to move to a strange place if you have even distant ties. It enables you to locate better areas to move to; for example, to avoid bad sections where crime is more apparent. I must say I am impressed by people who make major moves. Exciting and scary, but such is the way to live.

@PoetryNEmotion Thank you my dear :)x It is quite scary indeed, but really too exciting for me. Looking for a place where I will be rewarded for my professional background which I worked hard to accomplish but I don't see that happening here as the market isn't fair, plus I am longing for a free and independent life away from the family, I am really seeing a better future over there and so I am working towards it!
@BittersweetPotato The world is enormous, MissGaga. And there are so many things to do. So many opportunities too. I am glad you are living life. You will do fine wherever you plant your lovely feet.
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
@PoetryNEmotion :) Yes, I am glad I realised this a bit early too! Thank you my dear for the incredible support! Huggggs 💓xxx
