There's nothing wrong with making posts on a political note.
What IS wrong is use of terms like Nazi; libtard; etc which are both insulting and make the poster look like some sort of extremist rather than one with a fair view.
As with any other subject. The second you resort to insult rather than logic, you've lost the argument .

@Picklebobble2 I know which political leader you're referring to and I'm not a fan at all. That's what got that person so riled up. Doesn't really affect me though, I'm Australian so maybe I should not have commented at all. The ironic thing is I wasn't commenting to her, but someone else and she just butted in with her delusional reasoning and insulted me. Oh well, that's life.

Of course it should be. Everyone has a choice whether to engage in discussions on this forum and sometimes we might actually learn from each other.
Abuse isn't okay though and that's the problem here. People forget that they are actually allowed to have different viewpoints and that others don't need to alter theirs to match their own.

I think it should be avoided, although it doesn't particularly bother me. I just ignore any questions or stories I'm not in the mood for. Most people, in my opinion, come here for some light hearted fun; they can get all the politics they want or need from the mainstream media.

I just ignore them, if they're occurring too frequently I'll change which question categories I'm looking at.

Generally I only initiate political posts under Politics or specific groups; people have the option of avoiding those groups or that category. But I'll respond to someone else's post wherever I find it.
