The wages of sin are dreadful. The towns of Sodden and Gonorrhoea were destroyed because of their sinful ways. The only survivor was a righteous man

called Clot. Clot took his family and fled and warned them not to look back or they would be punished but his wife did not heed the warning and as they were running she looked back and was turned into a cellar of salt.

Do you think this was a necessary punishment?

Extremely necessary. We need to do that to people today

No I think this is an allegory for Brexit

A little known fact, but after this occurred, the cellar of salt was bought in as a unit of weight... Equal to the weight of a woman who wouldn't listen.
It's a lot to take in. I know.

Don't know about 'necessary' but a bit pointless unless someone else could be turned into a proper pot of pickled peppers.

Don't you mean " Lot"?
An entire cellar ? 🤔

@bijouxbroussard I believe so.
@AndysAttic The British expression "salt cellar" refers to a small tabletop covered vessel from which you can take a tiny spoonful of salt for your food. Does the same job as a salt shaker. Oh, wait, Job is from a different part of the Bible! And Job's lot in life wasn't altogether cheerful!!
