What was your dream job & what is your job now?

LilPrincess · 41-45, F
Dream job owning my own business

Reality: I am a full time baby sitter for over 600 stores. I make sure they all have their orders in then process them. Averages 200 stores a day through 3 warehouses. Also I do logistics planning which involves trying to stuff 10 lbs of junk in a 5 lb pail to keep transportationcostsdown. Create work loads for 400 people. Report to upper management production planning. Data research to create new routes and solve existing issues. Basically I'm the heart and soul of a 3 million dollar plus organization
LilPrincess · 41-45, F
@PTCdresser57 oh that is a complete nightmare. We had that issue today. My saving grace was our largest warehouse was processed a day in advance otherwise it would be 19 hours for today

Understood LilPrincess...I always kept a copy of all my excel spreadsheets on my personal computer so I could keep working....now ordering and moving things around was lots of phone calls.

Though I wanted to be a professional baseball player when I was young, I ended up eventually finding my dream job working as an attorney for over 30 years. I’m now retired.
(I also found out that I was better at tennis than I was at baseball)

My dream was to help people, which doesn't pay much. So I worked as an engineer in the space program, a dream job for some, to earn a living and which allowed me to pursue helping others as an avocation, unpaid.
