If you are running in a race and pass the person in second place, what position are you in?

I'm killing myself laughing that two people I've blocked are fighting over why the answer isn't "second place" it's "first place"!! Thank you for showing that my decision to block them was reasonable. 🙏

@MethDozer yeah never heard of that. To me, if Bob is in first place, and I am behind Bob, I am in second place. If I pass Bob who is in first place, I'm now in first place, because I passed Bob who was and is now in second place.

@MethDozer which means, they are now second place, and I am first place. It's a trick question that to me, doesn't make logical sense. It's all good though :)
