Really enjoyed Checkers for some reason. Monopoly was nice, as well as Battleship, when visiting cousins.
Operation was great fun, but made you a nervous wreck by the end. Much like Hasbro's exploding Perfection game.
Always wanted to play Clue, it looked interesting!

@SethGreene531 Checkers were fun. The cousins and I played it a lot! I don't seem to remember Exploding Perfection, though.
SethGreene531 · M
@LadyBronte Yeah they were. Anticipating moves was interesting, especially playing my uncle...he went undefeated, lol.
Perfection had a little wind up timer at the top, one of the lesser known games.

@SethGreene531 I see where that would be nerve wracking, especially against the reining champ. Lol.
Magicianzini · M
I enjoy board games a lot, always have. Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, Connect Four, Boggle, Triominoes, Trouble, Checkers, and Chinese Checkers are my favorites. I'm also a con for Chutes and Ladders and Jenga.. and probably a few others that aren't coming to me.
Operation hurt 🤣🤣 but I loved the body parts as a kid. I still have all the originals including an original copy of Let's Make a Deal. Hand me downs I never got rid of.

LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Magicianzini I enjoyed a lot of those too. But I have never played Trionimons. I do still have my originals too and in fact, a closet full of games. I've never been able to part with them.
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
I never had the opportunity to play them until I had a family. But Clue is major in our house. We like the video game version, but we do resort to the classic version from time to time.
We rather enjoy playing Life as well, even though they can tend to run pretty long.
And we created something called Sorryopoly that combines Sorry and Monopoly together with some made up rules I can’t even remember right now that had us having four-five hour long games. A ton of fun though.

@PerfectionOfTheHeart That does sound fun! I had forgotten about Sorry - my siblings and I use to play that one, too, when we were kids.
SlippingAway · 46-50, F
I love board games, used to have game nights and my favorite is Risk. Haven't done this in a very long time.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@SlippingAway Risk! I had forgotten about that one. A friend had that game when we were younger.
Adstar · 56-60, M
I played a fair few games of Poleconomy..
And a fair few games of Axis and Allies..
But when we get together for games now we only play Card games..
I think the advent of computers made a lot of boards games obsolete..

@Adstar I agree. The digital age has all but destroyed the Board Game.
Markinator · 51-55, M
I love board games and also grew up playing them. My taste in board games has grown to include European board games - my faves are probably Agricola and Settlers of Catan.

@SomeMichGuy But some people enjoy watching his antics. I am not one of them. Lol.
SomeMichGuy · M
@LadyBronte I understand him and nearly went to the real place on which their university is clearly based.
But he's too much
But he's too much
SomeMichGuy · M
@LadyBronte ...and their boards aren't always correct.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
I used to play board games with my husband especially Scrabble- I gave the Scrabble game to my son.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Justmeraeagain I'm glad ypu were able to pass the game along to your son to make more memories with. I'm also glad you have memories of happy times with your husband to carry with you.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@LadyBronte Thank you
gregloa · 61-69, M
Loved playing all those games. Been a little while. Get together with my daughter and play cardinal train double nine dominoes and skip-bo.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@gregloa Some of my friends still get together to play Dominoes. I do enjoy that. I don't remember much about Skip Bo.
UsernameAlreadyInUse · 26-30, M
I love playing them it is great way to interact with friends and relative when gathering on some occation,so bad people busy swipe and play game on their phone now.
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
I LOVE playing games. My favorite board games are scatergories, scrabble, trouble, life and sometimes I enjoy monopoly.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@ScreamingFox I play scrabble, but on line. No one will play with me at home - I win too much. Same reason no one plays Rummy with me anymore either.
😏 Fragile egos. Haha.
I have played scattagories a few times, it was fun too.

DrWatson · 70-79, M
I always enjoyed them. One of my favorites is Stratego.
But my wife doesn't like them, except for Scrabble.

LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@DrWatson I don't recall Stratego. But Scrabble is good.
Teslin · M
We use to enjoy playing Monopoly, Yatzee and a few others. I rarely play anymore.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Teslin Yeah, that happens. Same here.
rinkydinkydoink · M
In ye olden days - I'm older than you - we played nothing but board games. Most were hardly stimulating (that is, until Trivial Pursuit came along).
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@rinkydinkydoink Yes, Trivial Pursuit will challenge you for sure.
BlobbyMcBlobface · 56-60, M
I love backgammon if I can find someone to play and enjoy ludo for light hearted fun
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@BlobbyMcBlobface I've never played Backgammon. Several here have mentioned it.
BlobbyMcBlobface · 56-60, M
@LadyBronte I used to think it looked complicated but it's really just a race around the board, but with obstacles in the way, very addictive and good fun.
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
I cannot do things like dungeons and dragons. My 8 y/o likes chess and monopoly. She always beats me.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@zonavar68 I used to play chess, but it's been years. When my kid wanted to play board games, I was always on board and I didn't care if I won or lost. It was the time together, and hearing the laughter. I love all those memories!
RosaMarie · 46-50, F
I play lots of games. Still do with friends.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@RosaMarie I get together with a group of friends for game night from time to time but it is usually card games or a variation of charades or dominoes.
RosaMarie · 46-50, F
@LadyBronte card games are great too
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@RosaMarie It's always a good time!
For some reason, this was always a favorite. Been so long, I don’t even remember how to play!

LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@OlderSometimesWiser Oh hey! I remember playing that. Wasn't it the car game where you added your points as mileage? It was a lot of fun, too.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
Chess, Othello, Scrabble, Yahtzee, backgammon, Monopoly. Uno. We play often.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Thevy29 Nice! I don't know that I've ever played Othello. 🤔
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Thevy29 I haven't played that one.
urbancowboy · 56-60, M
My favorite is Trivial Pursuit because it keeps me intrigued
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@urbancowboy It's been a long while since I played Trivial Pursuit, but I did enjoy it! Really makes you think about things you've not thought of in years!
urbancowboy · 56-60, M
@LadyBronte Exactly
SomeMichGuy · M
Oh yes. And card games.
Kid board game: Candy Land
Later: Checkers, Operation, Yahtzee, Chinese Checkers, Password

@SomeMichGuy All fun games. Except Candy Land - I never played it as a kid so I don't know. Lol.
SomeMichGuy · M
@LadyBronte It ought to be called "toddler's first game". lol
Sroonaka616 · 31-35, M
I frequently play Heroquest with my housemates
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Sroonaka616 I am unsure what that one is.

@Adogslife I don't think I've ever played Backgammon, but I do love a good scrabble game. OK, so that settles it - when we meet up for dinner, we'll have a scrabble game afterward! Hahaa.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@LadyBronte Oooh, high stakes Scrabble. I’m in! 😂
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Adogslife 🙌
