I've done this with the dress. What color do you see now?

Apparently this has nothing to do with being "left-brain dominant" or "right-brain dominant", but it's still interesting to see how we all perceive colors differently!

I am not color blind, many vision tests have proven this but I have a few pairs of gray slacks that my wife says are green every time I wear them. She is also not color blind but we see things differently.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Roadsterrider but in the definition of the way our eyes work, gray isnt a color
Roadsterrider · 56-60, M
@MartinTheFirst Our eyes work with rods and cones, one sees color better and one sees black and white better. Our eyes see black and white just fine.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Roadsterrider in the definition of how physics work, gray isnt a color
swandfriends · 41-45, F
I'm left handed and probably right brained. And I do see pink
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@swandfriends me too. :-)
Penny · 46-50, F
i see a very light pink and like a pale mint green
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Penny that may be due to your device settings. There's some distorted color in the gray area (between the ribbons of the shoe) and can be interpreted slightly differently on different devices.
Lochlee · 51-55, F
Definitely pinkish
swandfriends · 41-45, F
Are you left handed?
Lochlee · 51-55, F
@swandfriends Interestingly not, right handed not even ambidextrous.
JoePourMan · 61-69, M
Definitely it's grey and green
purplepen · 51-55, F
I saw it as pale green and grey.
I always see pinkish gray
[c=#359E00]i see red and gold[/c]
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@YukikoAmagi really? wow! that's cool.

@LithiumDrop that's rude, you don't have to participate if you don't want. I'm Just trying to give some positive relief from the virus.

MarkPaul · 26-30, M
Just another one of those meaningless little Internet games that have no basis in the scientific method, but seems to attract certain hoards of people. No offense.
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@MarkPaul of course, I just made that clear in my post, but it's still very interesting how we how perceive colors differently.
CestManan · 46-50, F
It isn't all black and white.

Pardon the corny joke.
english · 56-60, M
im a leftie i see grey and green
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
In fact if you check the color value by plugging it into google you get that the color is a low contrast of cyan, and if you see anything else then you are indeed suffering from color blindness or a very bad color-misrepresentation by the device you're using.

If you say something else than what you see then the issue may be something else, more so rooting in lack of character than anything else.

But again this is not quite how color-blindeness works. you wouldn't be able to call out the color at all, meaning you would probably not say "pink", you'd say "hmm... pink-blue-ish?? maybe?.. brown?" and you'd probably also be aware that you'd be color blind before this very moment.
In a RGB color space, hex #00ffe1 is composed of 0% red, 100% green and 88.2% blue. Whereas in a CMYK color space, it is composed of 100% cyan, 0% magenta, 11.8% yellow and 0% black
Notice 0% red and 0% magenta

REMsleep · 41-45, F
Does anyone really see anything other than gray and mint green??
SW-User
@REMsleep yeah. I see pink and white.
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@REMsleep I see pink and white too.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
It's.. it's...bullshit
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@sweetiepoo im not being nasty or negative in my opinion
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@MartinTheFirst I'm relaxed, but calling it BS didn't translate to a positive comment to me. And I realize you are saying people's settings may be different on their devices, but groups of people looking at the same device have even seen it differently. I'm not saying this post, in particular, is specifically dealing with Covid, etc, but I just wanted to post something fun, light not too serious so people can take their minds off of it a bit. have a little bit of positivity instead of all the negativity in the world and on the news.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@sweetiepoo well we're just different i guess. We see light in different things.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
Pink. 🙂
Mrsbetweenfatandfit · 26-30, F
Can anyone explain why people are seeing different colors?
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@Mrsbetweenfatandfit That's a great question. I know with the dress it was supposed to be something with the cones in our eyes and how much light goes into it, but I will try to find some info for you for this particular one.
