It's not the videogames, the videogames were just a past time that our parents considered safer than outside?

No. They bought us video games because all the other kids had them too. ☺

We were kicked outside

@pdockal we were always grounded for wondering outside but then they complained that we weren't as adventurous as they were when they were kids 😂

@Fishy

You weren't allowed outside ?????

We actually weren't allowed inside

@pdockal guess it depended on where we were living at the time,
When we lived in a house with a huge backyard and lots of trees, yeah we were always outside, and enjoyed it too,

But then we moved to a place where there wasn't much of a backyard outside and instinctively we used to wonder,

Used to get grounded a lot, lol,
Until we gave up and just stuck to videogames,
Especially because the adults were always busy with other stuff, wanted us to be quiet, etc
its not the video games.
if it were. my generation would have dropped anvils on each others heads by now.

somehow we just knew 🤔

In the rural area here kids play outside. BUT there are still crazy fast drivers out here on the road. And if a kid wants to walk to a friend's house or school? They'd have to walk 6 or 7 miles.
