What are your thoughts on permanent daylight saving time?

It may happen here in the States. I mean, there are countries who keep the same time all year round 🤷‍♀️.

It's a very bad idea. We should be on permanent standard time.
KiwiBird · 36-40, F
@ozgirl512 Very few do. Time zones are an hour apart generally...although in Western Australia they have a weird 45 minute one in the central eastern parts of that State.

@OzDiver static one day, static the next!

@ozgirl512 For 162 years and counting! 👍😂

@OzDiver you too can own a waterfront property!
I would prefer permanent standard time, to be completely honest. Daylight savings is all well and good when the sun is setting later, but just wait until winter, when the clock says 3:00 p.m. and it's dark. Then these people will see what they've done.
@CorvusBlackthorne Oh yeah, that's true.

Doesn’t matter to me, I’m in Arizona where it’s MST all the time. I do wish it stay one way or the other. Hawaii and AZ are on std time all the time.
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
I don't particularly care either way, but I guarantee that people will start complaining about it when the sun rises or sets too late for their liking. We live highly regimented lives and things operate on strict schedules, which the rotation of the Earth doesn't give a flying f about. It's gonna be weird for some people trying to sleep at 10 PM and there's still light out
@TinyViolins It will just be something new that might take a while getting used to 😂.

@latinbutterfly I'm not so sure. Most people have had DST for their entire lives and a lot of them still forget to change their clocks. Or they just don't care enough and decide to wait half a year for things to fix themselves.

The saying "this is why we can't have nice things" tends to eventually ring true

Doesn't it fade the curtains? 🤔
KiwiBird · 36-40, F
@ozgirl512 South Australia is on a permanent 30 minute saving to sort of align with the East coast. A little known fact.
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
@KiwiBird didn't know that ...
No DS here. Been in places where it exists part of the year but all year round? First I'm hearing of that
Bri89 · 31-35, M
I would prefer it if they just made permanent standard time. I like late sunrises and early sunsets.
I didn’t fully understand the question. I think I’d rather not have daylight saving time at all.

@bijouxbroussard Why DST and not Std time?
@jackson55 I edited my reply.

It's long overdue! Can't wait for them to change the law. 😊
