This reminds me what Kato Kaelin said on a talk show: "let me take a stab at this" when guests were talking about Nicole Brown Simpson's death. I think Kato (Nicole's room mate) was trying to get attention, but it ended up sounding awkward and gruesome and the audience laughed.

@PatKirby I remember that, Kato got sued by Nicole's father for defamation over it.
