Ever notice that most people do not "find god" when they are happy?

Or... People put up a wall and shut God out and they only open up to the possibility of God when they are hurting and they realise they can't do it all by themselves.

@PatientlyWaiting25 but he’s imaginary, it’s like opening up to an imaginary friend
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
@Ferise1 If he's imaginary, why are you wasting so much of your time talking about him? I don't see you trying to disprove the existence of fairies, gnomes or leprechauns. I know you have a God shaped hole in you and that you are desperate for it to be filled and you also instinctively know it too. If you were at peace and accepting of God being 'imaginary' you wouldn't need to do this.

@PatientlyWaiting25 2 billion people aren’t fanatical about fairies
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
@Ferise1 why should that worry you personally though? It usually brings motivation for doing good, challenging injustice, spreading hope and it comforts people in a world that is painful and confusing.

@PatientlyWaiting25 it’s basing your life on a delusion. I know it means much to you but it has exactly the same effect as an imaginary friend.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
@Ferise1 No, I've seen amazing things, people miraculously healed, people held captive by addiction for years suddenly given a breakthrough or people given immediate strength to do amazing things and not through themselves, because of God. Imaginary friends do not rise from the dead and motivate people to give their lives to them, even to the point of death. I know that what I experienced in the hospital was not imaginary.

@PatientlyWaiting25 that could be attributed to chance. And the fact that it’s written in the Bible that Jesus resurrection doesn’t make it true.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
@Ferise1 Jesus fulfilled over 300 old testament prophecies, written hundreds of years before he was born, including the place of his birth and amazing details about his death and resurrection. That's impossible to be just chance.
Ferise1 · 46-50, M
@PatientlyWaiting25 they made it up. It’s so easy when you know what’s been written before.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
What exactly was made up?

@Ferise1 you don't believe Jesus was a real living person?
Ferise1 · 46-50, M
@PatientlyWaiting25 probably not it all seems too perfect too polished
