On some topics there is no middle ground. If you welcome both sheep and wolves, you'll only get wolves. Not choosing between the two is a choice to support the wolves.

@NerdyPotato I wouldn’t say that. What topic would you say has no middle ground?
@AdmiralPrune all forms of oppression, bullying, assault, genocides. If you're not against the perpetrators, it will continue, so you're automatically against the victims.

@NerdyPotato I see but can you give me specific example, say if we were talking over a coffee or beer, a scenario where there is no moderation or middle ground?
@AdmiralPrune the genocide in Gaza. If you don't stand up against Israel, you allow them to continue the murders so you are against Palestinians.

@AdmiralPrune you don't have to stand with them on those issues, but if you don't stand with them when they're the victim of such behavior, your objection is clearly not against such behavior. So why do you mind when they do it but not when someone else does it?
AdmiralPrune · 41-45, M
@NerdyPotato I don’t. I have equal contempt for both Isreal and Palestine. If the Ottomans hadn’t with Germany in WW1,the Turks would deal with them both.
@AdmiralPrune whether someone has contempt for the victims doesn't matter. There are only two options for what's happening now: let the killing continue or stop it. If people don't mind either way, it continues, so those people are on that side. What am I missing here?
AdmiralPrune · 41-45, M
@NerdyPotato Do you suppose that anything on SW has an impact on either option?
@AdmiralPrune that's a whole different topic. I'm happy to discuss that later, but let's finish the current one first. What neutral stance did I miss?

@AdmiralPrune what you think about the parties involved is clear, but what is your neutral stance between letting the genocide continue or stopping it?
AdmiralPrune · 41-45, M
@NerdyPotato I don’t intend to influence it either way.
@AdmiralPrune that's allowing it to continue, thus not neutral. If you don't have any other example of a real neutral stance, I stand by my point that there is no such thing in situations like this.
