Sometimes I read the political arguments on here, which often involve non political things being made political,

And I look at people just trying to piss each other off. One or both or more people may have a point, or no point at all, but ultimately the shit doesn’t even matter.

People here post stuff to argue on purpose. Same people that pick at other users for having, I dunno, feelings and personal thoughts. They attack anything different from what they know with or without knowledge or understanding to trigger each other? And wtf is woke? I don’t understand the million labels 😆

"Woke" is a very old term that some black people used as far back as the Civil Rights movement, basically about being [b]aware[/b] of the struggles that the people involved were going through. So if you understood what the protests were about, were empathetic and recognized what people were fighting for and you supported it, you were considered "woke".

That was specifically what it meant—not [b]racist[/b].

But the term was co-opted to mean [b]everything[/b] progressive or liberal and [b]now[/b] is even used to mock anything supposedly progressive or liberal. So now a lot of white supremacists are using the term to put people down, which is very ironic.

Claiming you don't have the foggiest idea what the word woke means and talking about labels....You are on the sideline. Wish to remain there, but also interject your opinion into the discourse of politics.

Also, you fail to acknowlegde that many people are fighting for their literal lives while others are fighting to take away those lives. They want to control and while you might like ignoring politics. ...those politicans run your world and can ruin it. I suggest not dismissing this very real point:

People's lives are at stake.

@tenente I agree. I usually avoid it, but I don’t watch TV, so sometimes I peek my head out to see what’s going on. I’m blown away recently. This hate has infiltrated every layer of being.
