Memory of my late husband
He died in 2009, factually. But he’s not gone entirely.
He was funny then and he’s funny now.
We were not married yet, although he’d proposed several times. I was hesitant. A previous experience had left me unwilling to commit. I finally agreed when he knelt and said, “Please, please, make an honest man of me. All my friends think I’m a tramp.”
But before that, we had just begun cohabiting. A couple of months. I found a job I hated, at a telemarketing place. I kept a notebook.
I still smoked cigarettes at the time, and there was a place outside, in a black wrought-iron cage, where smoking was permitted.
One evening he noticed I’d left my work notebook at home and worried I might need it, he drove out to my workplace to bring it to me. I was on break, with a dozen or so co-workers, smoking in the cage,
He walked over, delivered the notebook, then grabbed on to the black iron bars and said, “Don’t be scared, honey. I’ll wait for you until you get released!”
😂😂😂😂
