For tuning my guitar I remember Eddie Ate Dynamite, Good Bye Eddie (EADGBE)
or for bass, and it's quite sadistic: Eddie Ate Dynamite, Good (EADG)

To remember how to spell "necessary" its Never Eat Celery, Eat Slug Sandwiches And Remain Young. Lol.
