Even for the Far Side, this is pretty bizarre! lol

morrgin · F
Why do I never get these jokes? If someone telLs me what they mean I fail to find the the humor in them.

@morrgin Linda Blair played a little girl who got possessed by a demon in the movie "The Exorcist". One of the most famous scenes is one where she turns her head 180 degrees around (which looked pretty creepy), as the cartoon character in the picture is doing. And, as the exorcist was struggling to exorcise the demon, she would vomit at him from across the room. I guess the term "projectile vomiting" got coined after that.

@morrgin @DrWatson Also worth noting that the demon was mocking the death of the little girl's mother's lover. He suspiciously dies by falling down a flight of stairs and breaks his neck just after leaving the mother and daughter's house. The demon taunts the mom basically right after she finds out he died by twisting the girl's head around. So much of the horror is the demon tormenting the mom.

@4meAndyou My wife and I were at the Louvre once. We seem to have missed that sign!

@DrWatson Yes, I was there, too, when I was 13 years old...never saw any signs like that, either...🤣🤣🤣

I love the Farside, but this isn't in the spirit of its tradition. Whoever took over after Gary Larson, has departed from its roots.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@SethGreene531 This is dated 1992, which was during Larson's tenure with the strip.

I never find the Far Side to be funny.

1973 Movie. Comedy.
The Far Side, Calvin and Hobbes, as well as Bloom County, and Tumbleweeds, were the best 80's daily comics.
