Do you call custard creams with three biscuits and two layers of cream "triscuits"?

No one in the new world calls a cookie a biscuit. We treat our dogs with biscuits.

The colonies. Canada and that country 'neath us. 😁

@SW-User I haven't been there, sorry. I speak English as it is spoken in England because I am English.

You need to travel more. The world is moving on. And it's called SOCCER. Like you Limey's coined it. Soccer is but ONE form of football. Just like Rugby.
Bewilderbeeste · 61-69, M
@SW-User Who mentioned football? I didn't.

Oh, and the word "Limeys" does not have an apostrophe in it.

@Bewilderbeeste

I mentioned it. Were you not paying attention?
Score one for the Limey (concerning the apostrophe)! And why do you pronounce lieutenant as leftenant? I see no f...
Bewilderbeeste · 61-69, M
@SW-User I meant why did you bring football into the conversation when nobody else mentioned it? It was irrelevant.

I don't know why "lieutenant" is pronounced as if it had an "f" in it, it just is. That's how we were taught to pronounce it in school.

I dunno why. I just did, mate.

Do all Brits speak English the correct way? Is it true if one wishes to hear the way English was spoken in ye olde days one should visit Pitcairn?

@SW-User That sounds like a Scottish name.

Where the Bounty mutineers wound up. They were mostly louts, apparently.

@SW-User That doesn't surprise me.

If it means anything, my mother was born in London, fathered by a Welshman. My last name is Scottish (of the Fraser clan).
Bewilderbeeste · 61-69, M
@SW-User That's good. All you need now is a bit of Irish. Failing that, a connection with Liverpool would suffice.

I'll up my research!
