The only reason the Egyptian pyramids aren’t in the British museum

Have you seen Cleopatra's Needle on the Embankment? It was taken as a souvenir to commemorate the victory over Napoleon in Egypt. A container ship had to be specially designed to bring it here in one piece.

The Brits really thought they owned the world, didn't they?? I'm not an expert but didn't their superior naval fleets allow them to take over? (Also Spain?) Britain is such a tiny geographical set of islands, it's crazy they had so much power.
