I wanna tell you a story you won't believe, it's really weird

I once met a co worker in his 30's that once told me he would entrust a big secret of his, and I was like oh okay, maybe it's something interesting, but man was i in for a weird one, he told me that according to him, the corporations, big brands and designers, oh, and artists, made "things" for him, those things were using his date of birth, name, place of birth and such on their products, songs and what not, he genuinely believed they even knew who he was, he claimed he knew celebrities and CEOs through friends but not himself and that's how he was able to request hidden messages in their stuff about him, he would say a color used in a music album was used because it was the color of the building where we used to work at, he said a famous actress dressed a certain way or promoted certain things because that's what the girl he liked liked. Once again, this was a guy in his 30's and you wouldn't believe how serious he took all his claims. What do you think was his situation that led him to believe that? I'm no psychologist although any regular folk would think he must have some sort of mental state or condition whatever it's called.
