Are some seriously blaming Joe Biden for gas prices rising?

News flash! Breaking announcement! This just in!

It's not the first time in history that gas prices have gone up 🤷‍♀️.

The reason why this is happening makes this kinda hilarious, too. During a recession, commerce decreases, which causes the need for fuel to decline as well. This lowers gas prices and gas production. When a recession ends, gas prices increase along with it because there's more commerce and production had declined for a good while. We saw the same effect in the aftermath of the subprime mortgage crisis.

So yeah, what they're really complaining about is the economy recovering. Absolutely fucking unreasonable.

Yeah, if this had happened during Trump or Obama, people would've blamed Trump and Obama. Presidents get blamed (or credited) for things that really don't have much to do with them.

Gas prices are going up everywhere, not just in the United States. Demand for gas has increased, while supply has not risen to meet the demand. Basic economics. Some of the higher demand comes from Europe's increasing use of oil-based fuels (as opposed to natural gas) which has caused the price of crude oil to rise. There's also the higher demand to be on the road.

Often when gas prices rise, we go to war in the Middle East. So...you know, wait for that, I guess.

@SW-User Exactly! Petrol has gone up ridiculously in the UK lately and no-one has been blaming Biden for that....😉😆

I agree!! It's not the first time. It sucks. It's companies raising the gas prices.

@SW-User Exactly. The 1979 oil crisis and rise in gas prices for example, was caused by a drop in oil production as a result of the Iranian revolution.

They’re going up all over the world. It isn’t Joe Biden I assure you x
I had a bad day at work today. I blame Joe Biden.

I won't blame Biden. I'll just give Trump credit for very low gas prices while he was in office. Take that any way you like.

it's always a combination of a lot of things.

Ida messed up a bunch of the refineries and oil wells in the gulf.

Far too factual to break through the clouds of self deception I'm afraid
Its a blame the devil for the same thing god does mentality. Also they seem to have forgotten gas prices being higher. I think they assume tr*mp caused gas to drop to 80 cent last year.

Gas prices surged over the $4 mark here in California when Trump was in office. Why blame Biden?

No. Out of CoVid confinement, the demand is just too high, the production is not catching up.
