I should stop sharing my Warhammer stuff

I send them to friends because I'm excited about the models I've painted, but they mostly either don't respond or I get a disheartening and kind of dismissive "well done". It's like the borderline radio silence I get here, but from people I actually care about.

Actually I'm not sure how many of them actually care about me, like genuinely and sincerely. I have all of one friend who spends time with me outside of work, and I know all of them from one job or another. Sometimes it feels like they're just humouring me and I get the impression that at keast s few are kind of sick of me. Hopefully I'm just overthinking this whole thing though.

Yeah, I get that. Most friends in our gaming group where I went to HS, were very supportive. We all were. We've been gaming for years, till I moved away.
Many years later I got in another gaming group, co-workers, but only one was into it as much as I, or more like I used to be. It has been about 3 years since I last played any tabletop games. I still chat and hang out with the one guy. My youngest kid graduates this year, so maybe I'll try to get some games going.

I haven't seen your stuff, but I hope your sense of pride in it comes from pleasing yourself, not other people. Most of us have a random hoppy we can't really sell to other people.. For example I keep homong pigeons. There is a lot of science to it, I produce beautiful colors and strong flyers, I'm constantly improving them....Are you asleep yet?😴
Nobody cares but me. They add a lot to my life though, so I've stoped caring what the world thinks about it.
Do what you love for yourself.

@EmilyEdith My dad did that as a kid growing up on the lower east side in the 1920-30s - had a coop on the roof of the tenement building he lived in...

Brother You are just overthinking things people like people that have hobbies they don't. I think it's cool that you are into Warhammer it gives you personality. And 🤕 ouch you don't care about us?
KiwiDan · 31-35, M
@Lostpoet I don't interact with people here every single day, and I'm not exactly close to anyove any more.

I'm sorry, buddy. I do look at all of your stuff, even if I don't always comment. It makes me happy to see you pursuing your hobby. I don't tell you that enough.

@LordShadowfire thanks. Nobody tells me anything positive very often, irl or online lol
You do really nice work. It's painstaking painting in detail something so small. People who are into painting figures and models will appreciate your talents.

You should do what you enjoy and share what you want because you love it

That being said, what about a subreddit for Warhammer where there are enthusiastic hobbyists that share your interests? ☺

@TryingtoLava hahaha sorry. I do care about you, but you're about the only one left I actually do really care about. I like several others here, but don't feel much of a connection to them
